#Year1#Year1and2#Year2 worked in the #edibleplayground this morning. They explored different recycled containers to plant broad beans and radish seeds. Thank you to Ali from @GrowCardiff for all the great ideas you shared with us at the @TreesforCities growing event.
Nursery children looked at photos of lettuces and then identified them in our Edible Playground. They harvested them, washed them, and then enjoyed them with a bit of salad cream! The cucumber and tomatoes are from our Edible Playground too. @GrowCardiff @csc_stem @CSC_Wellbeing
Year 4 watched a programme about how carrots are harvested on farms, then went outside and harvested ours. We roasted them - they were delicious! @GrowCardiff @csc_stem
Year 4 harvested our Edible Playground cucumbers. Some were green and some were yellow. We peeled and sampled them. 'Fresh', 'juicy', 'sour' and 'refreshing' were the most-used words to describe them. @GrowCardiff@CSC_langlitcomm @CSC_Wellbeing
Today, we got to visit the #YoungMarketeers at @boroughmarket who were selling some incredible, fresh produce as part of the @sfmtweet's programme.
They grew all the veg themselves with their Edible Playgrounds. Amazing to see their hard work become fruitful, a huge well done!
📦 St John Bosco’s class received some fragile post today! Thank you @TreesforCities for trusting us with Rowan! We had fun this afternoon showing him around the #EdiblePlayground and making him feel at home. @GrowCardiff
A group from year 6 did a great job harvesting and selling chard, rosemary, giant red mustard and beetroot tops. Look out for more food grown @ReayPrimary
Wow!!! We were able to pick lots of fresh strawberries, rhubarb and broad beans from the garden. We’re looking forward to making our crumble tomorrow in Gardening club! @PinehurstP@TreesforCities@appleofmyeyepl @PinehurstPYewY2 #PinehurstScience
Bore arbennig yn chwilio am drychfilod yn y Gardd Llawn Bwyd heddiw.
We had such a great time looking for mini beasts this morning. We learnt all about which mini beasts are good for the garden and which are bad for the garden 🐜 🐞 @TreesforCities@GrowCardiff
What have year 3 "bean" learning in science? How bean plants grow, from germination through to the strong plants they are becoming. Next step is to plant them in our edible playground. @TfCschoolteam
Our Year 5 gardeners collected herbs from our Edible Playground this week and sold them for 50p per bag after school. A great way to raise money for more seeds and gardening resources. @TfCschoolteam
