A lot of dev studios chased DEI hires during the hiring boom, prioritizing ideology over efficiency. That shifted how studios worked, what games they made, and who they made them for—often alienating core audiences. To justify it, they invented a “modern audience” that was really just a vocal minority—pushed as the majority.
Activism over output doesn’t scale. The results? Layoffs, closures, underwhelming games, and a mega loss of money.
“Grifters”? The real grift was selling this as progress. And that’s nasty.
Players woke up. They know they can demand what’s right—and choose the games that deliver. The industry is course-correcting. I spoke out early—glad if it helped even a little. Not done yet.
I can say for certain after playing Shadows that:
Assassin's Creed Shadows is 100% for you if you like any of the following:
- Assassin's Creed Origins
- Assassin's Creed Odyssey
- Assassin's Creed Valhalla
It takes what the RPG AC games did and basically improves on it while reducing the amount of bloat that they suffered from and increasing focus on the story, it's not reinventing the wheel.
it feels most like if Origins and Odyssey had a baby. if you're not a fan of AC RPGs then it really isn't gonna change your mind but for fans of it, you really got no reason to skip this one
Assassins Creed Shadows crashed and now my Xbox Series X can't play it or other XSX Games
I edited a short little video talking about it, please like and RePost to get Ubisofts attention!
Im worried this will affect others

@CultureCrave Protecting the creators is important. Online harassment can be damaging to ones psyche, so a business that is actually taking steps to avert this is encouraging...if it holds up and isn't just a publicity stunt...
This is a legitimately wonderful promo video. Check out the sale for some quality games, or perhaps a nice excuse to play something outside your repertoire

Throughout all of human history these ideas have came from deep unknown places of the human subconscious, possibly connected to something even deeper, so to me, it's like telling people to kill that connection, to stop searching deep within oneself to bring something new into reality. To instead hand it over to a closed loop system that will continue to regurgitate the same stuff in slightly different ways, all carrying the same underlying concepts already introduced by humankind. To me it seems unnatural to hand over such a crucial element of us to something that isn't even free of it's own mind, but controlled by those who fill their hearts with greed. That time spent searching is time spent finding new ideas and concepts to benefit humanity.
Disappointed we didn't get nominated for the #GameAwards Community Support award this year 😔
