Almost through week 2 of working as a UX Researcher. I knew Iโd love it but I LOVE IT. I have moments when Iโm hard on myself because all these acronyms and jargon but Iโll get there. So proud of myself ๐๐๐ #blackinUX#BlackTechTwitter#womenintech#careertransition
@Pharm_Sakeenah A lot of internships pop up for the summer months so starting in January you can be on the lookout on LinkedIn builtin and other job boards for ux internships. Continue to work on projects and build your portfolio, network as much as you can, try adplist to get mentors etc.
Internship ends tomorrow and I have an unexplainable sense of peace that this is one of the best decisions Iโve made for me. Job is not secured as I thought it would be but Iโm so sure itโs coming soon. Godโs working right now. #careerswitch
I can finally say itโฆ.I GOT THE JOB! I decided UX was for me at the beginning of this year, did the Google ux design courses, completed an internship and after 3months on the job huntโฆ.I GOT IT! thank you Jesus ๐๐ฝ #blackinux#BlackTechTwitter#womenintech#careertransition
@Keefayahq@MakeUpAfrica_ Yes my internship was remote and separate from the Google ux design courses. I started off finding them through job boards on LinkedIn, builtin, otta etc.
@OwenWooo Yes I recommend it for foundational knowledge and experience from ground up but getting connected with an internship or an apprenticeship can be beyond beneficial as well.
Iโve been silent but Iโve been interviewing. Talking to mentors, talking to colleagues, talking to employers and as always feeling grateful and hopeful! Getting closer and closer. Itโs the whole journey that matters. #careertransition#womenintech#BlackTechTwitter#blackinUX
@abitpsyched Iโm so sorry about this. Your Twitter was on of the first UX research content I followed and I so appreciate just your presence in the space. Hopefully itโll make a resurrection in the right time for you.
I finally got the email I been waiting on. I didnโt get the job.Disappointed a little but GRATEFUL. Iโm 1 step closer to MY OPEN DOOR. Social media makes everything seems like it happens overnight but my feed shows itโs a process. #careertransition#BlackTechTwitter#womenintech
