#Barking & Dagenham have wonderful community projects. I visited the Barking Food Forest last week on a very hot summer’s day! ☀️
The community garden has lots of delicious fruit and veg growing and the outdoor learning space that children visit is brilliant. You can visit Saturdays 11am - 2pm.
Thank you to Thames Life and the local residents for welcoming me.
ROAD CLOSURE | Renwick Road, Barking remains closed while Essex & Suffolk Water repair a burst water main.
Works began 27 June and are currently expected to finish on 9 July .
Signed diversions are in place.
@NEF@dhnnjyn@BBCAnyQuestions Ambitious devolution doesn't just mean giving developer-led councils more power and marginalising independent community groups like the usual localism
It's going to be another hot day today - we’re reminding everyone to stay fire safe in our parks and open spaces. 😎 ☀️
Small actions can prevent serious fires. Let’s all do our part to keep our borough safe.

"The cooling hierarchy requires developers to maximise passive measures – designing the building not to overheat in the first place. If AC is required not to exceed uncomfortable temperatures, then there’s no problem" says @LondonAssembly@JulesPipe https://t.co/8XlQcq5MsZ
🌡️It’s important that we keep our staff safe during the extreme heat, which could cause serious illness or danger to life. The intense temperatures could also impact our collection vehicles.
🚧 Due to essential roadworks, there will be road closures at:
Rosslyn Road between Hulse Avenue and Strathfield Gardens, and Rosslyn Road at the junction and including Wilmington Gardens.
The works will take place on Saturday 20 June between 8am – 5pm.
My book, which charts the defenestration of PMs from Thatcher to today and looks at why governments fail, has arrived just in time for the Makerfield by election and all that may follow.

Private equity developers are trying to buy Brixton Market. We can't let independent traders get pushed out for multinational chains. Locals launch emergency community counter-bid before June 22. Let's keep Brixton independent—add your name: https://t.co/xLISQPA89u via @38degrees
@RamblersGB At Barking Riverside, the developer has taken from the public 2Km of Right of Way along the Thames with the excuse of flood alleviation works.
Rather too conveniently, that also gains them control over the lucrative land along the waterfront for building high rise apartments!
