Bheki Mlangeni (1958-1991), a young lawyer from Jabulani, Soweto, was tragically killed by a parcel bomb in February 1991. He represented activists and participated in the Harms Commission, investigating hit squads in the apartheid government and police. Mlangeni's work exposed the activities of secret units like the Civil Cooperation Bureau (CCB), and his law firm had presented evidence to the commission.
Solomon G Senaoane was a mine clerk & assistant secretary of the Bantu Men's Social Centre. He was also a pioneering football administrator in the 1930's & early 1940's. He died in 1942.
Philemon Tefu (1940-2012) was a political activist who was arrested with other PAC activists in 1963. He was sentenced to life imprisonment & sent to serve his sentence on Robben Island. He was subjected to inhuman & degrading treatment meted by prison warders particularly in the early 1960's. Tefu was released from Robben Island in 1985.
