@_TheKeyMaster_ @Zakana57 @GrandPOOBear The are removing foil commons and uncommons from the MILLIONS of play booster boxes printed each set, while also shrinking the number of them in collector boxes. To think that's not going to have a dramatic impact on price is a little silly.

@_TheKeyMaster_ @Zakana57 @GrandPOOBear There's an estimated 250K collector boxes printed each set. With 3 uncommons per pack and 100 uncommons per set, that gets us 90K of each foil uncommon in the entire world. By comparison, there are about 225K Revised Underground Seas.

@wrathWraith115 @MediaOffline1 @bart0nius God packs originated in Beta to describe packs with improper colation. There were Beta starter decks where all the uncommon slots contained rares instead. The packs from Journey into Nyx were designed and named after the community name for these factory errors.

@SaffronOlive It's fine if they want to eliminate foils in every pack, but they should go back to the original foil rarity from Urza's, or even the slightly boosted rarity of I think Ravnica.

@SaffronOlive Worst of all, because of headliner cards in collector boxes, the supply of foil C/U is fixed at release. They can do a second run of booster boxes to meet demand if needed, but not of collector boxes that contained serialized cards (or nonserialized with an announced quantity).

@Kripparrian I've been master rank every season since open Beta and have played exclusively Pyg for several seasons now. Just got my first 10 win run since the new patch, and I was only able to do it with a Vineyard/Restorative Probiscis build. Pyg has never felt this bad, sadly.

@SaffronOlive @MTGNobody420 That's not to say that this is a wise direction for the game, and there's a reason you see more and more Pokemom scalpers trafficking in Magic now, but stores can do quite well. Trying to run an LGS feels like easy mode now compared to the pre-Covid market.

@SaffronOlive @MTGNobody420 And with commander being noth the most popular format and the only one WotC actually supports, there's plenty of money in selling MTG and running a weekly commander night. With Standard effectively no longer existing, stores no longer lose inventory value every rotation.
