I was checking a product online, went to check-out to see the shipping cost, and then searched around other sites.

Then i get an email say my order has been shipped

Everywhere I look online, someone is talking about optimization. Your morning. Your workout. Your inbox. Your life. The same narrative floods social media in every language and every country.

Something has held on in Mexico that I appreciate. Sometimes things are not optimized for speed. Meals take as long as they take because you have to ask for your check. Your neighbor wants to chat, and you end up getting sucked into their story. Nothing about the errand you set out to run happens on the timeline you had.

You could call these inefficiencies, but I have started to see them as built-in pauses. Patterns that have survived even with the same optimization content flooding everyone's phones.

Some days I am in a hurry and the pauses are beyond frustrating. Most days, they slow me down in a way I really needed.
