@DrSethPT NIH’s new indirect cost cap risks destabilizing smaller institutions while benefiting well-endowed ones. Possible solution: gradual reforms, capped indirect costs 20-30%, baseline funding tied to performance, & public-private partnerships to ensure innovation and sustainability.
Most PTs work in specialty areas. If you work in an orthopedics, I beg of you to improve the depth of knowledge in differential diagnosis so that you can express hypotheses when referring out. I hear (and have seen) too many just saying “this is weird”
The catalysts for healthcare disruption are here:
✔️ Regulatory tailwinds
✔️ Tech maturity (AI, blockchain)
✔️ Cultural momentum for alternatives
Move early,
secure first-mover advantages,
and lead the transformation.

As we move into 2025, our profession’s top priority must be building a system that aligns revenue growth with wage growth, valuing PTs as specialists with compensation reflecting their education, expertise, and impact. One cannot exist without the other. #RewardClinicalExcellence
Completely agree on the need for systemic reform, but this call to action must ensure that increased reimbursement capture tied to quality of outcomes also proportionately shows increases in fair wage growth for the highly skilled clinicians delivering them.
As PTs, our role is to foster empathy universally, beyond identity. By focusing on the message, not the speaker’s background, we create space for all voices to contribute. Let’s encourage unity and understanding for those rooted in authenticity and goodwill.
Should someone’s identity—like being a straight white male—impact the validity of their reflections on respect and empathy? @drjarodhalldpt message seems authentically rooted in self-awareness and values that transcend demographics.
Still sitting w this thread. Words a cishet white man says to himself. . . As PTs we should have empathy, compassion, understanding for what marginalized people endure. He uses the word “hate” 9 times, which pulls focus from the actual issues against basic human rights & safety.
🎉 Honored to present alongside my mentor, Austin Drake, to the incredible talents from the Houston Grand Opera on "Harmonizing Health: Integrating Spine Health for Performing Artists." Huge thanks to Teressa Procter from Texas Voice Center for the support! 🎭🙏 #PerformingArts
As an early professional, it is disappointing to see a clinician with such decorated and extensive experience write something so unbecoming of our profession. Regardless of one's political views, such comments are inappropriate to make. 🤡

🤸♂️🏅 As I begin to finish my final day this week, I am incredibly honored and grateful to have been able to provide medical coverage and support at the 2024 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships! Being relatively new to the space of gymnastics and the performing arts, this experience has been unforgettable. Assisting in their treatments to ensure their health and at peak performance is a rewarding challenge, and I am proud to have contributed a small role in their journey towards the 2024 Paris Olympics.

🎉 Reflecting on an unforgettable weekend of coverage! It was a privilege to collaborate with my exceptional peers from Houston Methodist The Woodlands and fellow colleagues from various Houston Methodist Hospitals during The Woodlands Marathon and the Marathon Expo. 🏃♀️🏃♂️ Proud to have played a part in the marathon and expo events representing Team Blue! 🧢 #HoustonMethodist #LeadingMedicine #TheWoodlandsMarathon #TeamBlue
Depends on your definition of “healthcare related”. If you mean direct patient care then I know tons of ATs who have moved onto to become MD’s/DO’s, PA’s, PT’s, OT’s. But if you mean non-direct, I have peers who got MBA’s and are now in management/leadership roles.
End of the day it all depends on your “why?” and what you truly enjoy to do. Me personally I enjoyed the rehabilitation side of things, so I continued with a PT degree. However I still am an AT and cover in both capacities. Once an AT always an AT! 😂 Hope this helps and happy #NATM2024
@DrSethPT I’d be interested to see if the 4.0 version with the consensus add-on would be any different. End of the day, I see AI at its current state not as a replacement for anything, but a force multiplier for certain tasks if used correctly.
