@unraveaero What is the source for this? Kadapa airport was built in the 50s IIRC. Not able to find anything around British built runways there. Puttaparthy Airport was built way later too, although not with govt. funds.
@JhalaZalimSingh The reason for the restraint was "what would the Arabs or Africans think?". Didn't matter that an Indian ship & sailors were being held for ransom. Forget the hawk-dove paradigm. This is disregard for national security. (2/2)
@JhalaZalimSingh This continued happened more recently than one would like. In '06, MEA refused to use military "coercion", forget intervention to bring back Indian sailors kidnaped by Somalis. Despite INS Mumbai being in the region, and Navy ready to go. (1/2)
@Saiarav I've seen quite a few posts like this. Subtracting WEALTH from INCOME and showing "GDP PC" for pop ex. so and so is lower.
The low IQ tail is fatter than I thought. Hopeless.
@Saiarav No notes on balance sheet items (Cap WIP). We can see that a lot more employee costs have been capitalized this quarter vs last, but no details.
@Saiarav by INR 78198 lakh for the nine months ended December 31, 2024.
^^ Note on Amortization from the results @Saiarav. If UBAM has resulted in such savings, shows significant underutilization of spectrum IMO, unless it is 5G spectrum that is yet to scale-up utilization.
@Saiarav revised value of amortization for the nine months ended December 31, 2024, of INR 118913 lakh as per UBAM whereas the value of amortization for the same period under SLM is INR 197111 lakh for the Spectrum Fees. As a result of the same, the amortization expense has decreased ...
@JhalaZalimSingh@FinestYew@hellfire_81 4. US-India Nuclear Deal was achieved post a lot of diplomatic manoeuvring, and could be jeopardised if matters escalated between India and Pakistan
Menon predicted the inevitability of a kinetic response if such an event were to happen to India:
@JhalaZalimSingh@FinestYew@hellfire_81 2. High moral ground which could be used to put global pressure on Pakistan
3. Unwanted escalations could result in “both sides” sanctions, not worthwhile during the 2008 GFC…

@JhalaZalimSingh … esp given US moved Enterprise into Bat of Bengal.
4 Soviets pushed India on this, and we clarified that ‘we have no design on territory of others’.
India was in no mood to give US an excuse for intervention. (2/2)
@JhalaZalimSingh 1 The US was reaching out to China via Pak to counter USSR. Important to maintain credibility, so couldn’t allow India to walk over Pak
2 US bluffed to the USSR that they would militarily intervene if IND moved against West Pak
3 Soviets bought into the bluff
