I'm someone who is using twitter to promote his blog about adaptations, mostly literary adaptations. Some of my opinions are controversial. Others aren't.
@NormalGuy8@PublicDiscourse Have you seen the animated movie Ron's Gone Wrong? It sounds like its take on tech's effect on relationships might be more up your alley than Toy Story 5's.
It's the kind of adaptation that serves as a commentary on the original rather than as an introduction to it, a phenomenon that I wrote about in a blog post here. https://t.co/dwu80wN8Oa
X doesn't need more discourse about The Odyssey, but it occurs to me that the reason some people like the 2026 movie adaptation of the epic poem and others dislike it is because (cont'd)
@NarniaWeb I remember they weren't allowed to mention death in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe board book. So I guess they're going to totally cut the plotline of Digory's mother from this. LOL.
My blog compares and contrasts the two Snow White movies that came out in 2012, Mirror, Mirror and Snow White and the Huntsman. https://t.co/Xgy0QKqcFO #SnowWhite#fairytales
@aGuyOnMyPhone@Ragnar_Rough@NarniaWeb From what I understand, her reasons for going to church at the end are sentimental ones. Her reasons for disliking her Catholic school are closer to intellectual reasons. I don't find that flattering to Christians.
@NormalGuy8 I'm not normally attracted to superhero movies but for some reason, I've really enjoyed Marvel's recent Spider-Man movies. I'm looking forward to this one too.
@deeplyholloww@JonathanBock@NarniaWeb I'm with you on the Aslan thing but can you tell me why the casting is terrible for Jadis? (I haven't seen Emma Mackey in much.) Also, I don't really see the majority of the costumes as terrible, just the one for Jadis.
@magiclikethis@Prince_Rilian@Glumpuddle Yeah, editing is an important job in the same that making sure the print in a book isn't all smeary. If the film editor does the job well, you don't think about it. I don't really care if the editor has read The Magician's Nephew or not.
@Incogniofoshow@GShaneMorris@Digitalliturgy FWIW, I think it's not so much an ideological thing as it is the writers are relatively better at/comfortable with writing character arcs for male characters.
