At least 8,000 asylum seekers from Afghanistan have been stranded in Indonesia's purgatory for over 12 years. They lack the right to work, their children are deprived of education, and they have no access to health services.

The UNHCR office in Indonesia has consistently faced criticism for its handling of these asylum seekers, who report enduring mental torture.

Despite nearly three years of protests highlighting their inhumane conditions, they have failed to capture the attention of any human rights organizations or countries offering asylum.
