A Russian book written years ago described a future where AI evolves into something called Super Intelligence — and where @elonmusk becomes a central political figure.

In 2026, reality is starting to look strangely familiar.

@elonmusk And that’s what makes “Alternative” interesting today.

In it, it is a scenario that is arriving earlier than expected. 2034 is still in the future. But some of its vocabulary, technologies and political dynamics are already appearing in 2026. Genius!

In the novel "Alternative," by the 2030s the balance of power shifts. China, Russia, and India gain influence, while the US loses its dominant position.

The US faces a domestic crisis: critical national debt and an expensive global military presence. Against this backdrop, the idea of a new grand bargain emerges.

Even before Elon Musk takes office as president in the novel, he is invited to negotiate new rules for the international system. Russia, China, and the US are among the participants.

For Musk, it's a question of American survival: if new rules are being written anyway, the US must shape them. The deal should also help Washington address its economic problems.

Inside the US, the idea faces opposition. The Pentagon doesn't want to cut military presence or nuclear arsenals. Wall Street opposes changes to the financial system.

In "Alternative," both conferences emerge when the existing world order no longer reflects the balance of power.

In 1945, the great powers built a new world after a devastating war. In "Alternative," countries negotiate the future because the old confrontation has become impractical.

The first Yalta divided influence among victors. The Second Yalta in the novel changes the logic of international relations. Technology, AI, space, and arms control move to the forefront.

A key issue is nuclear limitation — a sweeping reduction of strategic arsenals.

To the American establishment, this means giving up traditional advantage. To Musk, it's a chance to halt an endless arms race.

Within the novel, America's overseas bases are both an instrument of influence and a financial burden. Reducing them would free resources for economic recovery.

The novel also considers writing off part of the US debt as part of a broader financial agreement.

in the novel "Alternative," a second Yalta Conference takes place in 2033 (just like in 1945, when Stalin, Roosevelt, and Churchill met). this time, it's the leaders of the US, Russia, and China at the table.

do you think a meeting like this should happen before 2033?👁️

@danellisona In the book "The Alternative," Russian writer Alexander Zhuravsky offers an interesting take on the theme of humanity's interaction with AI, introducing concepts such as cold singularity and warm singularity. I hope we stay in the warm one.
