@existentialnick Nothing to disagree with except that hope isn’t pretending things are fine - it’s the motivation to keep up vigilance as things get worse. Acting like the worst had already happened will make people more reckless.
@ChrisBrosnahan Sometimes I’d prefer all of those to the worry that an old friend never thinks about me anymore. Not indifference but profound irrelevance. Then, does becoming comfortable with all possible outcomes increase or decrease your humanity? ‘Anxiety: A Land of Contrasts’.
@gudvibes4ever_@TheycallmeB123@saraliciac There’s 2 axis of coping with depression - hungry <-> too nauseated to eat, and unable to do anything <-> obsessive behavior. That’s why so many great musicians are secretly depressed - practicing is like jogging, it’s repetitive self soothing behavior.
@Dosbilliam @RealSexyCyborg You got a line on metal ones with enough knurling to hold clear noodles? Outside of basic decency, that’s the only more important question I can think of.
@RheaButcher @RheaButcher This seems like a no brainer for children, especially younger ones for whom gender separation in sports is ridiculous. For adults/pros, is there any system or metric that could promote parity, whether it’s hormones/doping or just being a woman born with Shaq’s body?
@KarlSmallwood Why would anyone pick at @KarlSmallwood’s tech? The brand was primed for this kind of gear limitations (the green screen was a tiny hint). I will always respect the consummate professionalism of him and the team for never missing a beat, with charm to match.
@Qu0ne@jplusequalt@miscelaineee@zachbdunn@nbcsnl Art is a science. There are no rules but there are guidelines for optimizing media, formed by artists learning from each other and building on the past. It’s creative people creatively figuring out how other people were creative.
@lunatikkrazie1@SpanishGhoul Not all. Cooper and Zombie stood out by being intelligent and decent humans with generous senses of humor. The closest followup is probably the ICP.
@cynthsis @queer_queenie Down the blasphemy rabbit hole, moneylenders in the temple fight scene would be the obvious tentpole action sequence. Reorder the OT so all the most badass woman were a ninja squad. In Jojo style, covered hair would originate from being conspicuously fabulous+work in Samson too!
@cynthsis @queer_queenie Yeshua bin Joseph, so yeah 100% Jojo. You’ve seen the pictures - the muscles, the hair, the lack of pants, the superhuman abilities, the prophecy, the promise of return...it’s all there in the same way Bayonetta’s angels are super accurate.
@cynthsis @queer_queenie Frequently pictured doing the stupid DJ “Jesus” pose. Who does he think he is? Oh yeah - Jojo, eternal force of goodness and light with 0% body fat and overly dramatic dialogue people endlessly quote. I’m not christian, but if someone gave me the Jojo Bible I’d 100% read it.
@KassyReeign @oceantakemel @SpanishGhoul I’m not sure Rob Zombie’s Beautiful People would work. If you listen, Dragula is, comparatively, a much more positive and uplifting song. Now a RZ cover of ‘We Are the World”? That might slap hard, and he might actually go for it. I’d like full White Zombie, just for the bass.
@RheaButcher I always start with “they”, and if someone notices and cares enough to insist I gender them, they can tell me. I have no pressing need to shoehorn gender into casual or professional interactions.
@FreyjaErlings I think it depends on how common it is, as I think the notion of freestyle reincarnation breaks gender. Logistically, after a few lifetimes each person would’ve cycled through too many non-cis/het variations to care.
