@Geiger_Capital That’s a massive stretch linking those two things without much evidence… a huge portion of the Iranian population (~50k people) in LA are Persian Jewish who have no love for the current Iranian regime and in many cases fled during the revolution.

@DNCKilledMyDad @Geiger_Capital I replied to my post with the unempl. rate and you can see the native unemployment rate is right on top of the foreign (4.2 and 4.3%, respectively)

Agree there are issues with the unemployment rate - though i suspect data would not change incl. discouraged or part time workers

@RoewJoe @Geiger_Capital Might be true but the original dataset that he posted was using the same denominator. If the native-born unemployment rate is not increasing then why is it a problem that foreign-born people are getting jobs?

Would be interested to see change in unemployment rate for both groups because foreign born population is obviously a lot younger

@BarbarianCap I don’t disagree that the underlying thread is embarrassing / shameful for the media but I am not sure the level of trust in the media by the populace is a good measure of how honest the media is… See China and Saudi Arabia vastly outperforming Japan, Ireland and South Korea…
