Our newsroom is less than half the size it was when Gannett took over. We don’t want to hear any empty talk about how important local news is until you start filling our vacancies, Gannett.
Our Union’s proposal goes a long way to righting historical wrongs, and making @splcenter live its values. There’s no excuse: we demand dignified and thriving wages for all employees. #StopHoardingWealth

We're back at the bargaining table demanding a contract that protects us from wrongful firing. Simple, right? Not exactly.
Under POLITICO's proposal, we could be fired any time, for any reason — even if, as management said, they don't like our writing style one day. Here’s how👇
Serious escalation in Starbucks union fight: @SBWorkersUnited will be calling for a local boycott of Starbucks in Ithaca over the company’s closure of a store there which the union alleges was retaliatory. This would have been carefully deliberated. More details to come Wed.
“The Hill's current and future trans employees deserve better than a once-a-year email with a shoutout and a playlist." Ensuring gender-affirming care is included in our medical coverage is a priority for our union.
Hey Twitter! We haven't shared much here but we have been anything but idle. For the past six months, our union has been bargaining for a new contract that answers the issues we have and reflects the strength of the growing media union movement. Here's an update 🧵:
Our contract expires June 13, and we've got six full days of bargaining between now and then. Please sign a letter encouraging @voxmedia management to give our union a fair contract, now.

We mourn the lives lost in the horrific, racist violence in our city. We send condolences to all those suffering pain and loss.
Amid the anguish felt by our neighbors, our members jumped into action to faithfully tell the story. It’s a task we will continue to vigorously pursue.
Texas’ unionized newsrooms in Austin, Dallas and Fort Worth are fighting for better conditions, so that we can better serve our communities.
Our companies aren’t listening. That’s why we’re logging off for one hour today to call for fair contracts and #BetterNewsForYallAndAll
We are pleased that @condenast has quietly instituted a salary floor of $56.5k/year for all U.S. employees. Like expanded parental leave, vacation rollover, and ending NDAs, this change is a result of our union’s wins, not a goodwill gesture by Condé. That’s the union difference.
There is now a digital and physical picket line outside G/O Media. Industry colleagues, please support @gmgunion by not crossing either. Learn more about why we're striking at https://t.co/fUKhWRwu3M #gmgstrike
It’s been five years since our formerly family-owned newspaper was bought by the chain that is now called Gannett. This week, Gannett marked that anniversary by telling us that our reporter vacancy would not be filled, despite previously promising that it would be.
Today, we start bargaining with @Gannett for a new, equitable contract, one that will support our members and strengthen the foundation of local journalism in Rochester. With the support of the @GannettUnion, @nyguild, and @newsguild, we vow to fight the good fight.
We asked Vox Media Union members what the union means to them and how it's impacted their lives since we secured our first contract. The response was overwhelming and heartwarming.
We did it! As of this morning, @DNC staff is officially union. An independent count by a neutral observer has confirmed that we won with an overwhelming majority of DNC staff signing cards in favor of joining @SEIULocal500. ✊🏽 #unionyes#1u
Wonderful connecting with so many of our @Publici_Union members this weekend celebrating three years since we won our union. Happy birthday to us (organize your workplace)!
