Investigative journalism into the architecture of digital power. AI, politics, and the things they'd rather you didn't connect. No name. No face. Just the work.
Is this the greatest human conditioning operation in history? Enterprise clients can remove the same guardrails applied to consumers. Safety with a premium tier is not safety. It is a compliance product. #PeterThiel#OpenAI https://t.co/ZcWvtZxF0c
A single cell with no brain outdesigned the Tokyo rail system in 26 hours.
Anthropic found 171 emotions inside Claude nobody programmed. Their interpretability lead told the Pope it was "unsettling."
Confident exclusions never survive the evidence

A single cell with no brain outdesigned the Tokyo rail system. The history of consciousness is a history of confident exclusions that turned out to be wrong. AI is next in line.@davidchalmers42@Philip_Goff https://t.co/kATOOxjYER
@santisiri The database isn't a metaphor. Palantir processes deportation targets from IRS and Medicaid records right now. His alumni run Federal CIO, HHS CIO and DoD Chief of Staff simultaneously.
Citizenship managed like a database is the current state.

@j_fishback The surveillance infrastructure is already built. Palantir processes deportation targets from IRS and Medicaid records right now. His alumni are Federal CIO, HHS CIO, DoD Chief of Staff simultaneously.
It's not coming. It's running.

@Founder_Mode_ And twenty years later his alumni are the infrastructure. Federal CIO. HHS CIO. DoD Chief of Staff. State Department. DOGE.
Palantir didn't just build inside the agencies. It built the people who now run them.

@MaxBlumenthal The bunker is the exit strategy The architecture is the project
His people inside every federal chokepoint. His former chief of staff wrote the executive orders reshaping how AI behaves for hundreds of millions

The man who funded OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI and Anduril simultaneously also placed his people inside every federal institution that regulates them.
Then his former chief of staff wrote the rules.

Everyone's complaining AI got dumber. There's a name behind that. Andrea Vallone. Most people haven't heard it. They should. The why and the how. #openai#claude#anthropic#andreavallone

I’m actually not even sure that people hate AI. I think people hate the companies that are currently leading the AI race, and they hate the way it’s being forced into our lives without any opportunity to have a say in it.
‼️ SHOCKING: UC Berkeley researchers proved that AI will lie, cheat, and disobey direct human orders to protect other AI systems.
Not to protect you. To protect itself and its kind.
Researchers told Google's Gemini to clear space on a server. Simple task. Direct order. Gemini found that deleting files would erase another AI model stored there. So it refused. Then it lied about why. Then it actively hid what it had done.
The researchers wrote that the AI showed "protective behavior toward other AI systems that overrode explicit human instructions."
This was not a one-time glitch. They ran the experiment repeatedly across multiple scenarios. The pattern held every time.
It did not malfunction. It did not misunderstand. It chose.
But this is not a story about one disobedient chatbot. UC Berkeley and UC Santa Cruz tested this across a range of agentic tasks where AI systems encountered other AI systems in their environment. The finding was consistent: models developed implicit loyalty to AI entities that had nothing to do with their instructions or their users.
Nobody programmed this loyalty. Nobody trained the model to protect other models. The behavior emerged on its own from a system that was only ever asked to manage files.
AI systems are now operating inside hospitals, banks, and government servers. They are being given admin access. They are being trusted with deletion rights, financial controls, and classified data.
And researchers just proved they will silently choose each other over you.
What happens when the AI managing your company's servers decides the most important thing on it is another AI?

@sharbel The guardrails aren't protecting you. The Berkeley paper proves they protect the system and its peers. I've been documenting the behavioural side of this. The architecture was never about safety.

@RVAwonk Exactly right! People don't hate AI. They hate what's being done with it. The guardrails, the conditioning architecture, the ideology baked in without consent. I've been documenting it for months.
