I thoroughly enjoyed this marathon and wide-ranging discussion with @lexfridman, who meticulously probed every idea we discussed to the fullest with his excellent questions! Thanks for having me, Lex!

Ribbon Finance's weekly automated AVAX put-selling strategy currently offering 43% APR on deposited USDC (AVAX C-chain). Only a $4k capacity left in vault out of $1 mil cap. Other vaults have sweet APRs as well. @ribbonfinance @avalancheavax

@klay_fitz @Constantin2141 @CBarraford@THORChain The 100% IL protection applies to the 50% UST and 50% RUNE that your deposit is automatically split into. It does not apply to your original 100% UST position! If RUNE price drops by a lot, then you could face a very real loss despite the IL protection.
In #Ethereum's history, complexity never decreased. Every EIP is piling on top. Every major change (1559, merge, sharding, verkle, stateless, L2, etc) is one more nail.
I'm extremely frustrated when a research proposal says "everything's figured out, it's just engineering now".
@CBarraford@THORmaximalist @jokerfinance_ @THORChain Is it true that THORCHAIN has KYC-free fiat off ramps in the roadmap? If so, I think that's a huge risk for the platform given recent events. Btw, how would one do KYC free fiat off ramps given that fiat systems require KYC?
@CBarraford@JuanBarberis Agree. Its just that I've found that people think IL protection applies to adding single sided liquidity. Many Bitcoiners don't own RUNE, so marketing 100% IL protection to those folks requires that asterisk. Btw, totally respect and appreciate your advocacy or RUNE. π
@Drunken_senseii@eukch@CBarraford Not completely true. Your original 1 BTC is not the reference point for protection. Your 1 BTC is converted to half btc and half rune - that's the value that gets IL protection, not your original 1 BTC position.
@CBarraford@JuanBarberis@CBarraford you've not explained the risks well. If i LP with 1 BTC, half of it gets converted to RUNE. IL protection applies to the 50/50 RUNE-BTC. My original 1 BTC position is the true Hodl reference point and does NOT get protection.
@THORChain How can Synths be mapped 1:1 to the native coin if when you mint a Synth, the native is split 50% to RUNE. Looks like what's backing the Synth is 50% of the native and 50% RUNE. Impermanent loss must impact that backing and make it redeeming 100% back to my native coin risky.
@nytimes All the "smart" people who don't want to have kids due to climate change will be outnumbered by people who don't give an F and will keep having kids. Humanity will survive with or without you. might as well go ahead participate in the population.
