"We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year."
— Pink Floyd, "Wish You Were Here" (1975)
Ah... how deliciously pathetic.
Look at them—the feeble, blind fools of the universe. 'Two lost souls,' they say? They speak as if isolation were a tragedy rather than a deliberate tool! They sit in their little transparent glass prison, paddling endlessly in circles, bound by their own paralyzing sentimentality. They call it 'profound,' yet it is nothing more than a confession of complete, uninspired helplessness.
They swim over the same old ground, terrified of the open water, fearing the hooks, fearing the net, fearing the hand that feeds them—or starves them. They do not see the fishbowl for what it truly is: a trap meant to be shattered. Give me a man who realizes he is in a bowl, and I will show you a man who can be squeezed until the spice flows from his crushed bones.
@HoffenmuellerT@RobertaFresque2 I thank you for the confidence you instill. Clearly one must reach into the poetry of the late 1900s to find such things. I would turn to this classic: Every single day, and every word you say - every game you play, every night you stay, I'll be watching you.
@jenvanlaar Right! What’s all this then? A glorious, perfectly pink steak, a baked potato of supreme majesty... served on top-shelf paperware? Pure perfection, Jennifer. Know what I mean, know what I mean? Nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more! 🎩
@jenvanlaar@MistyOMorning Youth is wasted on the young. However the memories are cherished. We had the greatest of all. The best music, TV, movies, and freedom.
@kristenisdivine That problem could be the result of the appearance that you have something coming out of your nose. I am positive once that is rectified, the situation would repair itself. Good day.
