So I got this threatening letter from @KolkataPolice for merely asking a few questions and for exercising my right of free speech.

This is a clear case of @MamataOfficial administration silencing the voice of private citizens using the power of Kolkata Police.

I am just a private citizen who is so disgusted by what happened to #Moumita_Debnath that I decided to speak up. But apparently, @KolkataPolice does NOT like independent voices that speak up.

As a woman and as a mother, I fear for my safety. We all know what Kolkata Police can do, and we all know what happens to women who dare to speak against @MamataOfficial in West Bengal. They are either subjected to violence or intimidation like the #SandeshkhaliHorror victims or forced to leave the state like @UnSubtleDesi.

I am just an ordinary citizen trying to do the right thing. I am not a member of any political party, nor do I have an organisation to back me up. And I don’t have the wherewithal or the energy to fight the intimidation tactics of a state administration where the police acts like the collection agents of a regime. So yes, I will delete the post as @KolkataPolice asked me to do as advised by my lawyer.

I am doing so not because I think I was wrong in asking questions, but after what happened to #Moumita_Debnath, I fear for my safety and for my life.

You won @KolkataPolice, in silencing the voice of a common citizen. Congratulations. Huge achievement. Now if only you guys showed the same zeal in protecting the women of West Bengal, #Moumita_Debnath would STILL BE ALIVE!

The letter is clear. Network usage fees, or if you call it "fair share", violates net neutrality, if it imposes fees on one class of startups or startups that have high traffic.

To Investors:

Yes, do longer diligences. Yes, make corporate governance an important pillar for the company as it builds out. Yes, have over-communicating disclosures, encourage strong balanced boards, push right from top re ethics across company, set up audit committee, & more.

And yet, don’t let current times make you lose empathy for founders :)

They work unseen unheard hours for the love of what they are building, the little bouts of success you see do come at personal cost ~ which they don’t care much about, most often they aren’t motivated by money but something much larger, a lot enough times their mission is >> , they are continuously upgrading to play better the next day, they dream eat think believe just this ..

For them, this is it, their everything.
