Well, that's what I helped Rian Doris do
Here's the weird strategy we used:
HOW WE BLEW UP HIS YOUTUBE:
To understand how we rapidly grew his channel we need to understand one of the fundamental truths of business.
Supply and demand.
It unlocks the secret required to make any YouTube channel go viral consistently. Specifically, making videos that have high demand but low supply.
Beginners make videos with no strategy. They make what they feel like. They make what they think might work. They ignore supply and demand.
Intermediates make videos by looking at similar channels, find their best performing videos, and then make something similar. This is what the YouTube gurus tell you to do. This solves for demand, but ignores supply. Missing half of the YouTube growth equation. It’s clear people want to see that kind of video because it’s performed well. This means there’s high demand. But if lots of other creators are making that kind of video then it means there’s already a high supply. The demand has already been satisfied in the market. So growth will be minimal.
Pros make videos by considering both demand and supply. They have a deep understanding of ‘what’s working’ (demand), and ‘what’s being made’ (supply). And use that to identify unfulfilled demand. Everyone who blows up satisfies an unfulfilled demand. Hormozi, Iman Gadzhi, James Jani, Sam Sulek, WizardLiz, Hamza, Mark Manson, Andrew Tate, Rian Doris. All made videos people want to watch that no one else was making.
For Rian, we noticed that there was a big demand for productivity content. But all the productivity guys used ‘bro science’, so we ensured every video and multiple legitimate scientific studies. We saw in the fitness space ‘bro science’ YouTubers were quickly overtaken by scientific YouTubers like Jeff Nippard, AthleanX, and Jeremy Ethier. So we had conviction the same would work in the productivity space.
We also noticed that many productivity YouTubers were either super focused on making their videos look good but contained little substance (like Matt D’Avella), so we wanted to make our videos look good but also contain brutally practical advice.
There was also no one talking solely about Flow State so we tripled down on Rian not being the ‘productivity’ guy, but the ‘flow state’ guy. Niching down is a good way to identify untapped demand.
And finally we knew that front-loading Rian’s scientific and business credibility in any video would make him stand out from the other productivity gurus.
There’s so much more I could go into specifics about how we chose video ideas, how we created titles and thumbnails, how we wrote scripts, who we worked with, how we built the team etc.
But positioning trumps everything. You can be bad at making videos, but if they’re satisfying untapped demand you will grow. You can be great at making videos, but if people don’t want to see them, or lots of other people are making them, you won’t grow.
HOW TO GROW YOUR YOUTUBE:
What I’ve outlined above is what you need to do. But I don’t share how you can do it.
A few months ago I gave a speech at a mastermind that covers the ‘how’. The mastermind was $50,000 to attend, but I want to give it to you for free. You can find it in my Synthesizer School free community. Or maybe someone will link below. I won't link because X will bury the post.
And if you have more questions drop a comment below and I’ll respond if I have time.

PS: HIRING
The team: Often it’s confusing knowing who to hire, or even what roles to look for. To simplify things, all content teams have two core roles: writers and video editors. Writers can do video ideas, titles, direct thumbnail creation, and write scripts. Video editors, well, edit videos. If you’re in need of a great editor then the person I hired for Rian has a little bit more capacity. He’s not cheap, but he’s great. Feel free to comment ‘editor’ and I can send more details. If you’re looking to build a content team then check out the second half of the post linked in Synthesizer School and buy the recordings. It will teach you hire to hire a small, highly-leveraged content team for pretty cheap. On the writer front, more content creators and consultants should prioritize hiring a great writer. Rian has a true A-Player writer, and it changes the game. A great writer can really unlock a whole lot of growth for your channel and business.
PPS: If interested, here’s more background on Rian’s business
Rian’s recruiting: Rian knows that business growth is not about “how”, but about “who”. When recruiting, you can either hire someone with potential, or someone has ‘been there done that’. For the first you will pay with your time, for the second you will pay with money. If you have little money, hire with potential. If you have money, find someone who has already solved the problem you are trying to solve. Hormozi calls this someone with “batteries included”. This will radically speed up progress. With my 600,000+ productivity YouTube channel, I had done almost exactly what Rian was looking to do. So Rian found me, and asked what it would be like working together. I made him a proposal, completed a discovery project, and we started working together. It’s also interesting how he hired from the top down. He hired me, and I hired the team. He only spent a few hours per week on content because his team was so good.
Business: FlowResearchCollective
Revenue: low 8-figures
Credibility: When Rian started he was a teen from Ireland with no credibility. So he partnered with his favorite author Steven Kotler. I think this was super smart, and something more beginners should consider doing.
Niche: Professionals and entrepreneurs feeling burned out
Promise: Unlock flow state on command
Structure: Classic e-learning business model. $8kish front-end, $15kish back-end. Course, community, calls. Sales calls
Traffic: Originally solely Facebook ads. Then ad costs started to rise, profitability started to decrease, and scaling became hard. YouTube organic was identified as the next focus.
I've seen this exact same model scale to 8-figures so many times now that it's not funny. It's a proven, repeatable, simple (but not easy) process to get to 8-figures.
"Decisions:
• If you can’t decide, the answer is no.
• If two equally difficult paths, choose the one more painful in the short term (pain avoidance is creating an illusion of equality).
• Choose the path that leaves you more equanimous in the long term."

Something I’ve noticed
Very common in high level people & brilliant thinkers?
They LOVE history. They study it well and reference it often.
When you’re bored (lol) - watch history documentaries instead of scrolling TikTok.
Download easy free game on autopilot.
