@jjstyx There are two films currently so not exactly sure which one is the $20 million - one is The Adventures of Cliff Booth and the other is still untitled film project - there are also numerous shows being filmed or already filmed in Cali that received credit. Just look it up.
@jjstyx Also the $20 million they are getting this year is for a project that “over 110 filming days in California with 128 cast hired and 425 crew” filming started in July and will finish in 2026
There are plenty of requirements of the money needing to be spent in Cali. In the bill
@jjstyx Grok says - Netflix has produced or is filming 2 films and 7 TV shows or similar features in California in 2025, totaling 9 projects, with significant episode/special activity (~51 units)
Also can see how much each production was rewarded if you really look into it.
@SenecaSpeaks21@mstngmike in general they average about $350k - and then they sell years later for $5-20k -

@ajlamesa Kenya’s literacy rate is higher than the USA.
$79million seems a bit excessive. Is that building schools ?
Like most programs there was likely a huge amount just spent on “admin” and hardly any actually reaching its intended goal.
