One of the most important design rules in the entire Loop system is also one of the simplest:
When you walk out the front door, the car must already be waiting within 100 feet of you.
We have not compromised on this rule for any station we have built to date.
No waiting for the next vehicle.
No 8-minute walk across a parking garage.
No “the station is just around the corner.”
No last-mile tax.
You step outside → the vehicle is right there → you get in and go point-to-point to within 100 feet of the door of your destination.
We make ~99% of the structures and assemblies contained within a prufrock here in Bastrop. Here is a pic of a Prufrock cutterhead mid fabrication.
The need for dimensional accuracy on select sections of the cutterhead currently translates to us needing to send it on 3 trips back and forth to our Vertical Turning Lathe. On Prufrock 7 we plan to remove one of those trips.
