Dean Huijsen: A colossus in the making.
A name that is rapidly gaining traction on FT, embodies the modern-day defender: athletic, intelligent, and possessing a rare composure that belies his young age.

Really curious on the underlying metrics behind the Garnacho signing. High ceiling? Sure. But paying a premium for a profile that still lacks possessional maturity and tactical discipline was a massive gamble.
@htomufc It shows the double-edged sword of a rigid man-oriented block. Looks aggressive and compact until a team with elite positional rotation moves your defenders into zones they don't want to cover.
When was the last time Arsenal played with their nine lives against Chelsea?
Don't be fooled about the results. Chelsea will be good under Alonso. It's just the beginning.
Chelsea, you have a top, top manager here.
Whatever the result, you have the right man. He's years behind Arteta but has given his team a fighting chance against a brilliant team.
They'll get better, but they are not competing for the title this year.
Ndiaye is a thrilling tight-space dribbler, but Rogers represents a complete package: English homegrown, elite transitional engine, PL proven, versatility + a profile tailored for maximum FINANCIAL value retention. Just look at the reception Vs Fulham.
We need a central carrier in this squad very badly. Very very badly. A player that can pick up the ball and just destroy defences via carrying the ball. Rogers carries and also links up centrally and that suits Rosenior. Ndiaye is also a carrier as well.
Take your pick. Who would you prefer
The Enzo situation gets even crazier when you look at what City splashed on Anderson and Boudi. Neither is near Enzo’s level yet. Whatever happens here Chelsea come out on top imo.
Rodri would make any Mourinho team infinitely better but his underlying footballing philosophy doesn't fully exploit what makes Rodri a generational midfielder.
Primary reason CFC are primed for a standout season is the raw, collective hunger. Cole, RJ, LC are coming off frustrating seasons. Combine that with Xabi's tactical authority + the stabilizing veteran presence of Henderson x Welbeck & you have a dangerous, highly motivated group
🗣 Xabi Alonso: "Joâo Pedro is very hungry, and really determined to have a great season. He wants to, after a great last year, he scored many goals, but I think that he wants to keep scoring more and more."
Alonso doesn’t just ask players to swap positions, he creates a system where rotation serves to completely dismantle blocks. In a projected 3-4-2-1 or a fluid 3-4-3 IP, Cole, JP, Rodgers, Estevao won't just interchange—they will orchestrate chaos constantly. Absolute cinema!!
🚨 Xabi Alonso on where he see's Morgan Rogers' best position:
"One of his best qualities is that he is flexible. In that pocket position, close to the striker, close to our No.10, but he’s played as well on the right side, but more coming from the left. He feels he is enjoying his game, his flow, and I’m sure he will have good connections with the other players around him. If we get those connections right, that will be a great step forward in the quality of our game."

Pairing a high-volume chance creator with dynamic attackers in Mbappe + Vinicius will optimize Real Madrid's transition speed. No team will want to play them.
🚨 BREAKING: Real Madrid reach a verbal agreement with Leipzig for Yan Diomande pending final details.
Player already has terms in place on a five-year contract.🇨🇮

@PremLeaguePanel Barcola is more of an elite creator and space-creator than a pure inside-cutting goalscorer in the mold of a Mohamed Salah, Mbappe or Vinícius Júnior imo.
Chelsea need a Morgan Rodgers archetypal– someone good at breaking lines, improving build-up, and providing a distinct attacking threat compared to Palmer. Ideally, this would be Rodgers himself but Semenyo offers a strong alternative imo.
Ayyoub Bouaddi isn't your ordinary CM. His unique gifts— combination of composure + press-resistance, a DLP's vision, a defensive all-rounder's intelligence. He can influence the game in multiple phases. This is a midfield maverick in the making.
Our foundations under Maresca were built on sand.
It’s so painfully obvious now and it stems from his tactical model of overtly adapting structure/style/game-plan to every single opposition.
Meant there was nothing actually underneath if there wasn’t any numerical/structural advantage against an opposition.
We only beat PSG in the CWC because we got lucky on a few breaks with long balls (not a consistent game model against all opp). Also the reason why we would start so poorly on so many occasions for the smallest of tactical missteps such as a slightly different opposition shape - playing a back 5 instead of a back 4, 3-man hybrid press instead of 2, and everything was undone.
Not even when he correctly guessed the opposition setup would we always be effective in breaking down their block, as we know he’d always go for the +1 on the oppositions defense meaning we’d only have 4 players to circulate the ball against a low-block back-5, with the DM (Caicedo) often shadow marked out of the game, with an insistence of the back-3 for build-up in an overwhelming majority of instances.
It all makes sense now.
