@FloridScott @MistrexCheshire @surphs__upp @BenDRudolph @R_Denhollander “Floridian” sees girls and women as the same thing.

[The International Coercive Control Conference @TheCCCIntl]

@FloridScott @bezalelplace @BenDRudolph @R_Denhollander The more I think on your responses to this issue the more I realize your belief system is pretty puerile and really not worth commenting on any further.

[The International Coercive Control Conference @TheCCCIntl]

@FloridScott @bezalelplace @BenDRudolph @R_Denhollander Your belief that women and girls ALL dress for the male gaze is bordering on hysterical! Who raised you? If you know anything about the messages women receive through media and the public, you would understand that women/girls are foremost influenced by fashion trends. And 1/2

[The International Coercive Control Conference @TheCCCIntl]

@AngEngland @BenDRudolph @R_Denhollander Ultimately, most functioning, self-regulated humans cannot make sense of those behaviors because it is about an unhealthy idea of appropriate, not just normal, behavior. Those perps have lost or maybe never possessed a moral compass due to their own abuse, trauma or violence.

[The International Coercive Control Conference @TheCCCIntl]

@AngEngland @BenDRudolph @R_Denhollander That’s where most people who don’t understand the dynamics of abuse go off-track. We think a man who sexually assaults babies and toddlers are sick because “who would sexualize a baby?” All abuse is ultimately about power and control and maybe some mental pathology, but…2/3

[The International Coercive Control Conference @TheCCCIntl]

@AngEngland @BenDRudolph @R_Denhollander He holds beliefs that are problematic and no matter how logical or word-based you are you will not get through to him. He’s symptomatic of patriarchal norms. Little girls wear shorts to run around on a soccer field; participate in PE, go to bed, etc. It’s power and control… 1/2

[The International Coercive Control Conference @TheCCCIntl]

@miketheD88 @R_Denhollander If you see this as “gaslight” then you you either have low reading comprehension or you are who she is referring to😐

[The International Coercive Control Conference @TheCCCIntl]

@BenDRudolph @sheilagregoire @R_Denhollander Actually, Ben, when speaking of girls being a temptation to a man that is what he is saying w/o saying it directly. It’s interesting that he didn’t mention shorts, only skirts. You’re here thinking you’re being provocative. But you’re sounding like, “saying you’re a pedophile…”

Please, USA, get ahold of yourself. This is not ok in any way. We need *national* policies & laws which emphatically & incontrovertibly PROTECT WOMEN’s & GIRL’s basic rights. We are under siege & need help! @SenateDems @POTUS @WhiteHouse @HouseDemocrats @OVWJustice @UNHumanRights

[The International Coercive Control Conference @TheCCCIntl]

@Harrys_Garage @davidgmandel You’re as stupid as you look 🤡

[Natalie Page @NataliePage]

Mothers in the courtroom are damned if they do, and damned if they don't.

[Dr. Christine Marie Cocchiola @coercivecontrol]

A system that fails to protect our children from abusers - simply bc there is an assumption that children need 2 parents - is a system that is archaic & broken. Children thrive with one protective parent & do not need to love or spend time w an abuser. It’s twisted to assume so.

[Masih Alinejad @AlinejadMasih]

Atefeh, a mere 36, stood as a valiant voice in Iran’s #WomanLifeFreedom movement. Nightly, she boldly cried “Death to Khamenei” from her balcony. Tragically, the Islamic regime’s agents snatched her away, subjected her to brutal torture, and took her life. Her body was ruthlessly returned to her balcony, staged with a gas hose in a horrific attempt to fabricate a suicide. This heinous act exemplifies the regime’s deep-seated hatred towards women, their freedom, their hair, their dance, and their song. This is the cruel reality under a barbaric regime.

[Elle Kamihira @J42doc]

This is the kind of accountability we need.

A system where judges can make horrific judgements with no consequence for themselves - will only breed more horrific decisions that devastates children and families.

Judicial immunity produces a culture of impunity.

Our keynote speaker @bindelj this morning connecting the dots between prostitution, male violence and misogyny and the false equivalencies being peddled to make it palatable.

“If sex work is work, then surely rape is theft?” - Julie Bindel, #ICCC2023

[The International Coercive Control Conference @TheCCCIntl]

@grantwyeth gets to the heart of the matter. We live in a violently enforced, self-perpetuating hierarchy, one we all accept and promote - of male supremacy, and nowhere is this clearer than in family court systems.

[Dr Emma Katz @DrEmmaKatz]

'We implicitly believe that men have the right to a certain amount of violence. Our laws may pretend that we don’t, but the application of these laws demonstrate we do.

It is within this environment that the idea of “parental alienation” has thrived.'

[The International Coercive Control Conference @TheCCCIntl]

Too often the justice system enables the abuser & fails to protect victims of violence & coercive control. Professor Amy Bonomi and prosecutor David Martin will report on how this happens & their work to reform for stronger accountability and better protections for victims.
