As we know interstates literally exist in the game as they do in real life. Much of the lore in New Vegas is built around these real life interstates. This would place the games post 1956 at least.

Fallout 4 does look different in its design, but it’s also a different part of the country. This literally mirrors our own world. Why would Boston look exactly like LA?
