As a leader in loyalty programs, I think there’s much to learn from this flop, both for @Starbucks and any other business out there trying to put together complex loyalty games
Let’s analyze this @Starbucks for Life game. There’s been tons of complaints online about it, and it is clear why!
It has none of the odds that’d you’d hope to see in a loyalty program. They just found a way to make their most loyal customers feel like losers 🤦🏻♂️
So @Starbucks essentially made a gambling site that is optimized to get their business metrics up, but forgot to reward the wider base of their customers (the majority that won’t get to win any major prizes)
I wanted to make a joke about being a #productmanager
But,
Legal said it’s not compliant
Research said users prefer threads
Marketing said it’s against brand
Design said it needs a CTA
Content said copy isnt funny
Engineering said it will take 3 sprints
#productmanagement
The success metric for the @Google Translate team for improvement on their Japanese<>English translations should be a 50% reduction in inaccurate English print tees in Japan
@AprilynneA @chris_rempel I've done this a couple of times, but depends a lot on involvement and personal feelings around the venture
If they're very involved and excited about the project, it's hard to stay friends
In my case, engagement has always been low, which has made it easy
Some recruiter emails these days: 🤦♂️
"I'm currently recruiting for a specific opportunity, for an innovative client, that I believe has strong synergy with your professional history." ✨
Well at least the template is highly reusable 🧐
