Leaving the Catholic Church because of bad priests is like leaving Jesus because of Judas.

Jesus chose twelve Apostles, and one betrayed Him. Judas’ sin was real, ugly, and devastating. But the other Apostles did not abandon Christ because one of them failed Him.

The Church is full of sinners who need God’s mercy. That does not excuse abuse, corruption, hypocrisy, or betrayal. When leaders fail, there should be truth, justice, repentance, and healing.

But their sin does not change who Jesus is.

The Church is not true because every Catholic is holy. It is true because Jesus founded it, remains with it, and still gives Himself to us in the sacraments.

The Eucharist is still Jesus.
The Gospel is still true.
His promises have not changed.

Some people have been deeply wounded by someone in the Church, and that pain should never be minimized. But Judas was never a reason to abandon Jesus.

So here’s the harder question 👉 Should the sins of bad Catholics be enough to make you leave the Church Christ founded? Why or why not?

“Christian” includes all that was Jewish before Christ and was fulfilled by Him.

“Judeo” includes all that is Jewish since Christ, and is premised on rejecting Him.

Hence the incompatibility.

Christians embrace the religion of the Old Testament through their embrace of the religion that fulfills and completes it: the Catholic Faith.

We do not embrace the religion of post-Christ ethnic Jews who have distorted that Old Testament in order to deny their Messiah.

Thus, there is no need for “Judeo” to modify “Christian.” All is complete, pure, and fulfilled in “Christian.”

Hence, after the coming of Christ, “Judeo-Christian” is an oxymoron. It’s like saying “Antichrist-Christ.” It’s incoherent and nonsensical.

No one requires equivocal, distorting, propagandistic words and terms to articulate the TRUTH of Christ. He stands alone, complete, fulfilled, and fulfilling.

We reject nothing that was Jewish and pointed toward Him. We reject everything that is Jewish that continues to reject Him.

Christ is King.

In 1986, the American Medical Association published an article titled "The Physical Death of Jesus Christ." It details the entire process, from Jesus' trial to his death on the cross. In Luke 22, before Jesus was arrested, it is described that he was in great distress and sweating blood.

Though rare, it is known as hematidrosis, a condition caused by high levels of stress. In that era, crucifixion was considered the worst death for the worst criminals. But Jesus did not only suffer this. He was flogged with such severity that it tore his flesh.

They beat him so brutally that they tore his face and ripped out his beard. A crown of thorns 5 to 7.5 centimeters long was driven deeply into his scalp. The leather whip with which he was flogged had small iron balls and sharp bones attached.

The balls caused internal contusions, while the bones tore his flesh. His skeletal muscles, veins, and intestines were left exposed, causing him massive blood loss. Most men do not survive this kind of torture.

After being severely flogged, Jesus was forced to carry his cross while people mocked him and spat on him. Crucifixion was a process designed to inflict unbearable pain, leading to a slow and agonizing death.

Nails up to 20 centimeters long were driven into Jesus' wrists and feet. The Roman soldiers knew that the tendons in the wrists would tear and snap, forcing Jesus to use the muscles of his back to breathe.

Imagine the struggle, the pain, the courage...! Jesus endured this reality for 3 hours! The Gospel of John recounts that, after Jesus' death, a Roman soldier pierced his side with a spear, and blood and water flowed out.

Scientists explain that, due to hypovolemic shock, tachycardia causes fluid to accumulate in the membrane surrounding the lungs and heart.

This accumulation of fluid in the membrane surrounding the heart is called pericardial effusion, and in the lungs, pleural effusion. To the world, Christianity is foolishness. They believe it is for the weak. But when one confronts the reality of the cross, it is clear that it is not a pleasant image. It is brutal and horrifying.

This is the weight that Jesus bore. The weight of the world's sins, all so that we may live. God's wrath is fully satisfied in Jesus. This is what it took.

Repent and believe! Jesus is "God with us" incarnate. Jesus is our Savior. Jesus loves you so much that he endured this spiritual and physical punishment for your sins and mine.

Jesus is the LORD, God Almighty, Everlasting Father.

I battle true evil inside myself. A spiritual war fought in shadow. Everyday since the Holy Spirit herded me back. I embraced my darkness and felt power from it. An excuse to be held to no man or law. No moral or ethic that can’t changed with a matter of perspective.

Truly I say to you if you read this know that I don’t have the answers. I only know pain and trauma. I studied Christianity from a scholarly approach as is my character. I like first hand experience and making my own conclusions.

I have finished my first reading of the Catholic Bible and have learned more about Humanity and Purpose, as well as understood wisdom I wish I had known as a young adult.

Now I understand both the Evil and the Light. Now I truly believe in my Lord, and His will be done always and I just pray my Lord continues to give me the Holy Spirt which feel like a new power of intuition I’ve unlocked. It’s like a second instinct that guides me through decision making processes. Truly incredible stuff.
