You can't compare null to anything, because there no data to compare, this not a real value. In fact, it means "no value", which is an error, not a value

@pschneider1968 @meetingcpp Actually no, SQL only has 2 bool states. Null is explicitly defined as "not a value" in SQL, it literally means "no value", which isn't a value but a state. Null can't be used in any SQL comparisons, you can't even do "= NULL". I really hope you aren't touching prod databases..

@meetingcpp It has 2 values, null is not a value, it LITERALLY means "no value". It might have 3 states, but ONLY 2 values. Null is a state, not a value. If you are getting returned a Null instead of true/false in a Boolean type, you are being returned an error, not a value.
