Curious Linguist & Scientist🧬 | Developing an interactive story app @StoryPathways | CertHe Biochemistry from Warwick University | Leeds Uni graduate (BA,MA)
After spending the past months designing & planning an interactive story app @StoryPathways
& its branching dialogue system, I feel happy to share that I'm making progress. So far barely anyone knows I'm working on the app, but I hope this changes. I'm creating a writing tool, too
Since dialogues are essential to my app,I decided to invest time in creating a writing tool which will then export files in XML format for use in my app. By doing so,I will be writing some of the code needed to run my story app, too.I hope to finish this writing tool in early 2025

A new day, a new mandala. It's three this time. I liked my original mandala, but wasn't 100% happy. So, I changed it up twice more. If interested, you can again download these on my patreon (no membership required). Feel free to leave a comment.

I've started creating mandalas as part of my journey to designing and publishing colouring books. I'm currently sharing my mandalas for free on my patreon account, so feel free to check it out and leave comments. #coloringpages#mandala#coloringbook
I'm on patreon now! I think it's the best way for now to share my free mandala and colouring book designs and create a community. Currently you don't ned to be a member to access my designs.

Just had a livestream to the #LeedsVarsity Rugby Union final show up on my YouTube's sidebar (thanks to @LeedsStudentTV ).It made me realised once again how much I loved my time at Leeds University and how much I miss all of the societies. Well done UoL for winning varsity 2023!
Came across #ChatGPT ~2 weeks & been using it to get ideas for books, board & card games, plot ideas, plot twist, chapter and book outlines. And while it's brilliant for that, it's not that good at writing longer text or giving factual correct information.

My most popular practice speech is actually "How hurricanes form".It's based on an article I wrote for @Gryphon_Science@UniversityLeeds many years ago, so it's longer online. It was played for a total of 8 hours through speechpool 🥰 More than the video on Legionnaires' disease.
Most of my videos on my TheCuriousLinguist YT channel are speeches for practising interpreting. I uploaded them to https://t.co/0akvCSfYU7 (a repository of practice speeches) and I'm so happy so see that my videos are actually being used for practice. 1/2
Another well-used practice speech (they are around 8-10 minutes long) is called "How an engine works". It's been played for a total of 2.2 hours (not as much as the other one) through #speechpool, but it's still significantly more than my other YT videos.
I have a question for English native speakers. Would you say: "Most of my videos on my YT channel are speeches **for practising** interpreting" or "Most of my videos on my YT channel are speeches **to practise** interpreting"? #EnglishLanguage#NonNativeSpeaker#Englishgrammar
#NaNoWriMo my verdict:4130 words. I didn't reach the goal (50 000 words) but more importantly, I got started. Here's my daily breakdown, and yes, I didn't write on most days.
Day 2: 1000
Day 3: 395
Day 6: 641
Day 8: 443
Day 9: 1615
Day 16: 479

I wanted to post updates on my writing process for #NaNoWriMo (November) but didn't. I wanted to post about me learning to do graphic design and haven't. Same goes for so many other things. I feel there's too many ideas left to pursue, it's paralysing. Anyone else feel the same?
I ended #NaNoWriMo with just over 4000 words on paper. Even though it's less than 10% of the 50000 word goal, it's 4000 words more than I had before I started. It got the ball rolling. I learnt something. I joined writing groups. I'm going to write until it's a finished novel.
