@ve96359@clashreport Good point. We are talking about the past. Because the whole discussion is about "US paid for European security". Besides that, US needs global dominance. You believe you donยดt need Europe because you think you own it. But once China is main player in Europe.....
@ve96359@clashreport Of course it is. US needs influence in Germany, France, Italy or UK. With global hegemony US had huge influence on domestic politics in european countries. US "shaped" many decisions by soft power in Europe.
@EstherD08231206@MosiniElisa If Weidel was a chancellor and Germany was attacked you would have experienced same scenario (postponed election, mandatory conscription). Totalitarian dictatorship is totally different than EU. Go to Russia and try to sing a song against Putin. Or try it in China.
@EstherD08231206@MosiniElisa Yes, Ukraine was attacked by Russia. They have a right to defend. They need to defend human lives. Without weapons Russia would steal their homeland and kill their people.
@EstherD08231206@MosiniElisa Obviously, I am not going to change your opinion. I will just say this: Politics is competitive. If you are weak you will be eaten. You have to adapt, cooperate and change. Small nations can not compete or face threats from US, Russia or China (war, EV, AI, tariffs, etc.) alone.
@EstherD08231206@MosiniElisa You are wrong. World is different. EEC times are gone. In the past european countries were strong due to colonial heritage and industry. China was non-existent. US was a friend. Contemporary politics is totally different. Your sentiment is stronger than your reason.
