Most crypto accounts tell you what happened.
DeFi Gravity focuses on what it means next.
I track:
• Macro + liquidity
• ETF + on-chain flows
• BTC + ETH market structure
• DeFi + tokenization
• Crypto policy
• Culture + where attention is moving
The goal is simple:
Narrative → Evidence → Confirmation
You’ll regularly see:
THE MARKET IS MISSING THIS
The second-order effect behind the headline.
THE CLEANER READ
What the data actually says.
FOLLOW THE FLOWS
Where capital is really moving.
FROM THE TRENCHES
Where incentives, culture and attention are shifting before price catches up.
ONE CHART. ONE IDEA.
One signal. No noise.
THE STATE OF CRYPTO
The Sunday flagship: macro, market structure, rotation and on-chain confirmation.
If you care less about headlines and more about the forces actually moving crypto beneath them:
Follow along.

It’s interesting how falling down the Bitcoin rabbit hole often leads you into other rabbit holes too.
You start by questioning money.
Then you start questioning food.
Light. Sleep. Movement. Stress.
Many people talk a lot about sovereignty in finance. But many of them quietly pursue sovereignty in their health too.
Red light therapy.
Cold exposure.
Strength training.
Morning sunlight.
Fixing circadian rhythm.
Real food.
Breathwork.
Nervous system regulation.
Low time preference doesn’t just apply to money.
When you really understand incentives,
you start thinking long term in every area of life.
Because the same mindset that makes you question fiat tends to make you question everything.
Bitcoin isn’t just about money.
It changes how you think.
And sometimes, how you live.
SOUTH KOREA'S KOSPI IS DOWN MORE THAN 7% TODAY, ITS 5TH STRAIGHT LOSS AND OVER 15% IN FIVE SESSIONS. @fundstrat SAYS THE SELLOFF IS LIKELY SPILLING OVER INTO CRYPTO.
SOUTH KOREA IS BLOCKING 27 UNREGISTERED CRYPTO EXCHANGE WEBSITES, INCLUDING KUCOIN, MEXC, BINGX AND PHEMEX. REGULATORS ADMIT USERS COULD HAVE TROUBLE WITHDRAWING.
FROM THE TRENCHES
"Ledger hacker used Zcash and was traced." Nearly 250K views today, and Monero fans are taking a victory lap.
The pool didn't break. The doors talked.
The thief behind the Ledger reseller drain (YFarmX now counts $103.4M) ran ETH through Tornado Cash, then a swap service shielded it into Zcash in lots. Inside the pool, sender, amount and recipient are hidden. Going in and coming out are public.
One lot I checked on-chain: 101.62 ZEC shielded at 16:02 UTC on Oct 9. At 18:36 and 18:37, two payments of exactly 50.68166946 ZEC left the pool. That's the lot minus swap fees, split in half. YFarmX says 108 of 108 exits matched their lots the same way.
So the trace was amounts and timing at the edges, not a crack in the cryptography. Even YFarmX says Monero is harder, but money still has to enter and leave through services on public chains.
Now the market part. $ZEC ran from $185 in February to $1,693 on Sep 26. It's about $1,166 now and the #5 perp on Hyperliquid by open interest ($536M, roughly twice XRP's). That open interest never touches the shielded pool. It's a leveraged bet on a story: encrypted Bitcoin.
The trace doesn't hurt the tech. It dents the story. And the story is what's leveraged.
$BTC's daily Bollinger Bands are pinched.
BB(20,2) width is 5.58% of price, tighter than 95% of days in the past six months. The last time they were this tight was Sep 9. BTC dipped to $74.9K, then ran to $87.4K.
A squeeze says a big move is loading. It doesn't say which way. Of six earlier squeezes this tight (width under 6.5%) since mid-2024, BTC was lower 20 days later in four and higher in two.
Levels:
- Breakout: a daily close above the upper band (~$86.6K) and the Oct 2 high ($87.2K), the top of the descending triangle
- Middle band: ~$84.2K
- Floor: the Sep 28 low at $82.5K. BTC is at $82.7K, right on it. Oct 8 closed below it, then reclaimed it
- Breakdown: a daily close below the lower band (~$81.9K) and the Oct 8 wick at $80.3K
Until one side breaks, it's coiling.
Sui just stacked a week of real adoption news. The token went the other way.
Since Oct 6:
- Samsung Wallet picked Sui, alongside Solana, to carry USDC on 82M US Galaxy devices, live late October
- Hashi, Sui's Bitcoin-collateral network, is rolling out with $500M+ in partner commitments
- Sui Foundation is putting $30M into DATA Network, which will retire its own chain and run natively on Sui
$SUI: $1.18 to $1.07, down 9%. Bitcoin: down 4%.
The catch: this wasn't missed. It was front-run. SUI ran from $0.69 to $1.26 between Sep 15 and Sep 27 on a vague Basecamp teaser. The market paid for the promise and sold the delivery.
The hype premium is gone. The deals are still there.
@DocumentingBTC Consensus is hard to hack. The soft targets are wallets, bridges, and libraries, which is exactly where Avalanche's founder says AI will hit first. Bitcoin the protocol and Bitcoin the user experience are different attack surfaces.
@unusual_whales Cutting long-bond auction size is a liquidity signal for risk assets. Less duration supply can ease the term premium that has been pressuring both equities and BTC.
@coinbureau BTC is still around $82.6K on Coinbase after that open flush. $42M of longs liquidated before the US open is noise next to the Oct 8 wick near $80.3K. The level that matters is still whether $80K holds on a daily close.
@CoinDesk@evernorthxrp@Nasdaq First public XRP treasury on Nasdaq with about 473M XRP. The Saylor copycats are spreading across every large-cap token. The tell will be whether XRPN trades at a premium or a discount to NAV.
@BitcoinArchive A Coinbase discount of about $90 versus Binance and OKX usually means US spot demand is soft. Pair that with last week's ETF outflows and the $80K support debate makes more sense.
@BitcoinArchive +11,593 BTC onto exchanges in 3 days is inventory coming back to market. With BTC around $82.6K on Coinbase, that supply overhang helps explain why rallies keep getting sold.
@BitcoinArchive An exit tax above about $890K is how governments keep capital from leaving, not how they attract it. France is treating crypto gains like a cash cow while Asia races to offer BTC-backed loans.
@CoinMarketCap Same point Vitalik made last week: the near-term risk is AI finding old code bugs, not cracking ECDSA. Wallet libraries and bridges are the soft underbelly long before quantum shows up.
@saylor 250 BTC at about $21.5M while spending $192M on STRC buybacks is a 9-to-1 capital allocation. The Bitcoin treasury story is still alive, but this week the preferreds got more love than the BTC stack.
@WatcherGuru A major bank offering RLUSD custody on XRPL is the distribution layer issuers need. Stablecoin supply only scales when the custodian list looks like traditional finance, not just crypto-native wallets.
@CoinDesk@BitMNR@fundstrat 6.03M ETH at about $2,527 on Coinbase is roughly $15.2B. Hitting a hard 5% supply cap turns BitMine from a buyer into a holder. The next question is what the stock does when the accumulation story ends.
@BitcoinMagazine@watchbmtv@GraceRemiTV@realseanhagan BitcoinArchive notes the retail cap is about $3,600 per exchange per year starting Dec 1. Opening the door for 40 million clients matters less if the annual ticket size is that small.
@BitcoinMagazine BTC-backed won loans are the Asian version of what Western banks keep studying. South Korea is treating Bitcoin as collateral instead of waiting for another white paper.
