Nah bro I’m not letting this go. I really need to know how this is ANY DIFFERENT from Balogun’s sending off. Jhon Arias literally steps on the back of his ankle (on accident obviously) and receives a yellow whilst we’re without our striker Monday night for the same challenge.
I watched this last night and I gotta tell you - it’s really, really good.
You’ll gain a real appreciation for how Pochettino is managing this team.
I came away *so* impressed with his demeanor and approach.
Worth your time. ⬇️
Balogun was in on goal. He beat the defender and was about to score.
No red card. No penalty. No yellow card. No foul. No review.
The bizarre thing is that Fox Sports showed a replay that began just AFTER the defender let go of the arm. So weird. How could the officials miss this? And how could the TV crew miss it as well? @USMNT
Just watched our third WC win in 19 days… we had 3 WC wins in the last 24 yrs.
Just watched our 10th WC goal in 19 days… we had 8 in the last 12 years.
Just watched our 2nd WC shutout win in 19 days… we had 2 in the last 24 yrs.
What a time to be a USMNT fan!!
🚨🇺🇸 Zlatan Ibrahimović hails Christian Pulisic after USA 2-0 Bosnia & Herzegovina
“People always expect the captain to score the goals and take the headlines. But sometimes the greatest performance is making everyone around you better. Pulisic was the heartbeat of this team. Every dangerous attack started with him, he kept asking questions, he never stopped running, and even when a goal was taken away from him, he kept playing with the same hunger. That is leadership—not complaining, but responding.”
“When Balogun was sent off, I watched Pulisic closely. Some captains panic. Some disappear. He became even bigger. He demanded the ball, calmed his teammates, and made sure Bosnia never believed they had control. That is what separates good players from real leaders.”
“Tillman scored the masterpiece, Freese made the saves, the defenders threw their bodies in front of everything, but do not forget the man wearing the armband. Pulisic carried the pressure of an entire nation and still played with courage. That is why the United States are still in this World Cup. You need talent to win matches, but you need players like Pulisic to win tournaments.”

🚨🇺🇸 Clint Dempsey Defends Balogun: “That’s a Yellow at Most, Not a Red”
“I’ve watched the replay from every clear angle, and I still don’t see a straight red card. It’s a committed challenge, but I don’t think there’s enough there to send a player off in a World Cup knockout match. Football is a physical game, and not every strong tackle has to end with someone walking down the tunnel.
“VAR is meant to correct clear and obvious mistakes, not magnify every incident until it looks worse than it really is. For me, the referee had the right feel for it on the pitch, and the replay didn’t provide anything convincing enough to overturn that.
“A decision like this completely changes the rhythm of the game. Instead of talking about the football, we’re talking about the officials. I believe the United States have been punished too severely, and I don’t think Folarin Balogun did enough to deserve a straight red. In a match of this magnitude, you’ve got to be absolutely certain before making a decision that could define the outcome.”
