I always liked Frederik Andersen until he tried his best to sell me out in fantasy finals 2 years ago.
I won a ship, he won a ship; maybe it's water under the bridge now. Especially for under $3M
I liked the Kings draft and now I like their start to FA. Zuccarello at $1M plus bonuses is a steal, Haula is a solid 3rd liner and 2 years is nothing.
All the best to Calvin in Minnesota. He saved our playoffs a couple of times and I'll forever be grateful for that! I was never a believer and he absolutely proved me wrong here.
Hmm Ryan Shea. Don't love the term, $4M seems to be the going rate though. Last year was his first full season in the NHL, have to hope it's not just a flash in the pan.
Full marks for the last two transactions by the Oilers to Stan Bowman and co. Getting out of Nurse's contract with no salary retained is excellent work. They just need to use that space wisely now.
@MartinsJukss Elvis has a $5.4M cap hit and hasn't posted a SV% above .900 in 5 years. Unless they were taking Jarry back, yes I'll happily be crazy that the Oilers lacked the assets to acquire him.
TRADE 🔄
The #Oilers have acquired goaltender Devon Levi & a seventh-round selection in the 2028 NHL Draft from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for Edmonton's third-round pick in 2028.
With Korpisalo and Shesterkin as their goalies, I'd have time for Dylan Garand as an Oilers target. The Rangers just signed him to an extension but he's not waiver exempt. We probably aren't in a position to go unproven in net though.
We have acquired goaltender Akira Schmid from the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for our third-round selection in the 2028 NHL Draft.

@teapottoffoIi I see, I guess the Oilers are betting on some untapped potential. I can always appreciate someone who generates scoring chances even if they can't finish. Thanks again for all the info!
@tonarinohey thank you for Kamiina Botan! The anime was really special and that's not possible without your original work. Congratulations on a great adaptation!
With that, the draft is complete. For many of these guys, this will be the high point of their hockey careers. No shame in that. And for those who aren't selected, the road is far from over.
