Michelle Campbell shares the wild story of Jim Morrison’s missing bust—found after 37 years—and decades of Doors fan devotion at Père-Lachaise. From secret burial plans to a 600-lb sculpture drop, this interview changed how I see Jim’s legacy. #TheDoors#JimMorrison
On this day in 2013, we lost Ray Manzarek. I’ll never forget getting the phone call right after getting off of work. I always loved this photo of the band, particularly Ray. You are forever missed!
We break down the songs on & songs left off. What do we think of the differences from the original release? Where does this rank among previous RSD releases? What can we expect from The Doors camp in the future? Almost two hours of discussion!

@ddutkowski@shades_below@ErikJRomano As much myth as it created, it was still a transcendent film for me. The New Haven scene in particular featuring Bill Graham himself?!? Also one of the few movies I watched the entire credits. That may be the best part of the film— the roaming shot of the band just jamming.
@ddutkowski Also, long boxes were interesting. I never liked the long boxes for single CD releases or rereleases, but I loved them for the CD box sets. As much as I love The Doors box set, design wise, the Hendrix purple velevet boxset was by far my favorite.
@ddutkowski I interviewed Randall Jahnson, and he had some interesting stories about one of the screenings he attended with Stone, and Stone didn’t realize he was the guy who wrote the draft of the script he decided to malign… I mean use.
@MovingP73543198@TheDoors It has been, but it wasn’t the version released in 2007. The bootleg was a lot worse quality. Highly doubt that was what McConaughey was listening to.
Happy Birthday to @RobbyKriegerArt!
Ray said of Robby that "Not only was he the snake man on bottleneck guitar but he was also a tunesmith with a touch of the poet himself," and I can't say that I disagree!
