Gisele Pelicot condemned the "cowardice" of 50 men accused of raping her over a decade, as orchestrated by her husband, Dominique Pelicot, who admitted to drugging her and recording the abuse.

Pelicot, addressing the court in Avignon, called for an end to France’s patriarchal tolerance of sexual violence. Despite evidence, many defendants deny intent, blaming her husband. Verdicts are expected by Dec. 20.
