Full circle moment for me this week
2014: Avatar Fan art while learning digital painting during University
2020: Revisited to see the progression
2026: ..and finally, my official artwork in Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender
12 years of consistent practise had paid off!
@oldmanbayin I can help answer this!
Sometimes starting from direction or rough storyboards, but usually I designed/built the environment and shared versions along the way for the artists to use.
I made these paintings of Tagah and Sonam for the flashback sequences in the Avatar Aang movie, which I was so lucky to help guide the style direction of.
‘AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER’ creator Michael Dante DiMartino says the awards qualifying screening tickets sold out in minutes.
“It sold out in like 10 minutes or something... I think that just shows that people really want to see this movie.”
If I had a nickel for every time a Water Avatar suffered the consequences of the acts of their Air Avatar predecessor and be criticized for what they had to do to save the world
I'd have two nickels—which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice, right?
Ppl expecting “modern” era Avatar setting with futuristic tech…
Would the spirits really be chill with that?? Vaatu would totally use that to his advantage 💯
i’m 80% sure pavi is just a way for bryke to make the original atla concept of a sci-fi dystopian show into a reality cus the premise is essentially the same. which is… a choice
