A HCW (whom I had to ask to wear a mask in T1diabetic child's room) in a hospital told me that if they knew what was causing T1D-- they would surley try to prevent it..
I threw my hands up and asked-- "Would you?!"
They had no idea that COVID is linked to #diabetes.
#MedTwitter
@raficdaud I told them back then who who knows how my trajectory will go--also have reactivated EBV diagnosis & no one knows what all will happen with all of us with Long Covid..Maybe MS diagnosis in my future, BUT no one knows.
I got sick w #COVID Feb 2020 & stayed sick, 2021 my neurologist said certain that I had MS on top of #LongCovid--
Turns out it wasn't MS..
It's still LC..
We need biomarkers so people can get properly diagnosed & real treatments can be proved to help people w/ specific diseases.
@raficdaud They were basing off my symptoms & neuro exams at first then MRI(had some inflammation/ruled out MS lesions), labs to see if something else they could find, my diagnosis remains Long Covid. Some of my symptoms that seemed MS like have improved, some symptoms have worsened.
@TheExtraFiles When i was in hospital at one point in '22, neurologists suggested i might have MS as well due to the number of new lesions found on imaging & neuro symptoms i was having.
It wasn't MS.
My heart reaches out to Gavin’s family and friends. My heart also reaches out to everyone in the LC community here on this platform. Every time we lose one of our own, it takes away a little bit from all of us.
Here at the pain doc. Nurse didn’t have a clue what Long Covid was. I schooled her a bit, but could tell she was drifting and not listening. This is endlessly exhausting.
This man had #LongCovid from an infection in 2022. He was reinfected in 2024 and it made things worse.
This was his last tweet.
He’s now dead.
Because #LongCovid kills.
And there will be many more.
Absolutely heartbreaking to hear this morning that my mate Gavin @Gavtaraysin has gained his wings 🪽🥲
G was such a lovely person who always showed me support and kindness. I will miss my our chats, banter.
May he now rest in eternal peace ❤️
Sadly, another person with LongCOVID has passed away. I didn’t know Broden well but he was a really nice, kind person and I came across this post from August, which is absolutely tragic because he was really struggling.
My condolences and best wishes to those closest to him.
A fellow Long Covid friend, is gone.
Forever missed.
His last post was about 5 weeks ago, calling for paramedics and asking us to wish him luck
Now he’s gone.
I’m so sick of watching this disease destroy people while nothing real is being done.
Year 7. People are still dying. People are still disappearing. And the world acts as if nothing is happening.
RIP friend. You deserved better than this.
Our Long Covid advocacy groups are too busy having in-person workshops with poorly kids & no mitigations during a COVID wave to talk about prevention. I’m sure they told them to lie down afterwards to prevent PEM though 🫠😵💫
Dear Friends, there is no “may be” here.
Covid also fuses our neurons.
And the processes that we hear are only occurring in those mysterious LongCovid bodies are happening in everyone after enough Covid infections. Good luck & Godspeed. https://t.co/4y7lpdqPlU
So it’s back in the house again (not me … yet). Doesn’t get clearer than that. Lit up in seconds. Positive on first day of symptoms for family member - constant sneezing, streaming runny nose & muscle aches.
Let’s hope my personal precautions hold 😷

Tomorrow, I aim to establish an initial world record for N95s worn during a 5K.
4 will be for my respiratory protection (1 at a time). The cape is made of 104 (39 + 26 + 39).
Here's a sneak peek of the cape layers.
