A 64-year-old man in Richmond, Virginia, was arrested after reportedly duct-taping his wife to a chair in the basement so he could watch football upstairs in peace.

Terry Ward is accused of leaving his wife restrained for approximately 30 to 45 minutes on October 11. He now faces felony abduction and misdemeanor domestic assault charges.

Apparently, asking for a little peace and quiet wasn’t enough. This guy decided to turn his basement into a hostage situation just to watch a football game.

What an idiot. All ya gotta do is this:
* Turn the water off for your "main" toilet... preferably the one she uses.
* Do this an hour or so before kickoff.
* If she doesn't discover it....YOU discover it. Cuss a little bit...stomp and play it up.
* Tell her you know how to fix it and what part you need.
* Cuss some more...complain that this is gonna get in the way of watching the game. Act like you're torn between fixing it NOW...or waiting until after the game. You ultimately grumble that you'll just have to miss the game. But add that you're gonna try like hell to get the part(s) and get back in time to at least catch the second half.
* Leave. Go to sports bar. Watch game.
* For added realism....text her part way into the first half and act pissed. Tell her the "store" doesn't have the part...but they said their store in another town (30mins-1hr) has it.
* Finish watching the game.
* Stop by hardware store on way home and buy a $5 flapper or something similar.
* Go home.
* Go to bathroom...shut door....clang and bang around for a few minutes. Turn water back on. Flush toilet a few times.
* Come out and announce that it's fixed.
--- You're a hero/fix-it man...you got to watch the game....and now she can't bitch if you turn on ESPN/NFL Network to see post game wrap-ups because you wanna see what happened.
