Friendly suggestion 🙌
Since you’re coming into the store anyway…
Why not just do the deal in-store from the start?
You’ll get better support, and you help keep local stores running strong 💪
What’s your experience with Call & Collect?
Hey Vodacom customers 👋
Quick heads-up about Call & Collect (ordering online/call centre, then collecting in-store):
Most people don’t realise what actually happens when you walk into the store…
Here’s the part many don’t know:
👉 The sale is usually credited to the online/call centre team
👉The store often earns little or no commission
Even though we do the full setup and support.
Vodacom's "Ask Once" promise:
Explain your problem once across app, call centre, website and store — and get it sorted. No repetition, no frustration. Beautiful on paper.
Reality in SA?
2018: TOBi bot arrives
2020: Everything shoved online first
2025: Cuts 113 jobs (Feb) "
Ask Once" campaign launched (Oct)
2026: Franchises forced to handle customer care for free, with zero tools & worse in-store prices than online
So much for consistency. Vodacom saves on salaries, customers save nothing but time... which they waste repeating themselves anyway.
The only way I found to speak to a human was as follows:
Call 082 135
Press # (again number does not matter)
Press 2 for accounts
TOBI will now send you an SMS
Reply with: "agent"
It will respond and try to "save time"
Reply with: "agent" again
Answer the customer care call
Vodacom Customer Care - SA
Since it's impossible to reach a human when calling vodacom Cusomer Care, I found a way.
Dial 082 135.
Press # (The number in question does not matter at all)
Press 0 repeatedly until it asks what language you would like to be assisted in.
And Voila!
