@hopeyrok @NotJonMollison "Common" is hard and likely unverifiable. What has come down to us is the poetry and literature of a "better" few. The views of the illiterate or more prosaic many are far less available. When I was in grad school doing the whole MilHist thing this was an obsession of mine.

The playtest crew agreed that the Windknollen scenario for "Lasalle" was a tough one for the French. Lacking both cavalry and artillery, they could slow but not stop the advancing 1806 Prussians. More testing to come.

It's not one of the scenarios offered in "The Grand Battles" expansion (curious omission), but the community stepped up with a Grand Battle of Aspern-Essling for "Commands and Colors: Napoleonics". This is a refreshed set for the anniversary.

Truth be told, I'd given the British up for done in our Grand Battle of Salamanca for "Commands and Colors: Napoleonics", but a ruinous fire from their rifle lights turned the tide and left Wellington with a 17-10 victory. Fun new scenario. @gmtgames

A bad cavalry melee and some horrid fire combats resulted in the Austrians catching a pummeling in tonight's Battle of Castiglione for "Lasalle". I think the Allies are itching for a rematch.
