The problem I have with Homecoming is that it borrows so much from Jacob's Ladder (narrative) and from Gans first Silent Hill movie (aesthetic) that its actually harder to find and appreciate its own merits.

It's actually the SH game that I'd love the most to see a remake for

I find the Silent Hill Homecoming VS Downpour debate one of the more interesting ones in the SH fandom, they're both interesting but flawed games that I think appeal to very different tastes.

I'm more of a Downpour guy myself, but I do think Homecoming is over hated.

It's not close to the worst of the series but it's severely overrated. Capcom showed me with this game that they're willing to retcon and ruin previous established lore, also suffers from unnecessary fanservice (like Hunk or Zeno) which wouldn't be an issue if this was conclusive
