If I ask you, are you an investor? Many people will say, of course, yes.
As a follow up, if I ask you, are you happy? The number of yeses from the first question will drop.
You will get a different number of yeses if you reverse the order of the above questions. However, if you combine the two questions, you get "Are you a happy investor?" It hits different.
What is a "happy investor"? How is it different from "successful investor"? Should it be defined by how much money you have made? Or the goals you have achieved? Happiness and amount of money is relative...
After quitting my job in mid thirties and then retiring before turning 40, I have often dabbled with a thought of what I really want to do. I have been investing my money in many different asset classes, and thinking if I do this, I will be happy. But when you get to the end point, you think now what?
When you measure wealth in money, you are missing the point.
It's like grading a meal by its ingredient list rather than how it actually tastes.
You want to make enough money so that you can do all the things you want to do easily and with outside help. Giving you freedom to:
Do what you want?
When you want?
From where ever you want?
With who you want?
You will see "want" is the common word in all the questions above. Its the "want" that needs to be defined.
Time feels different as you grow older. Its different at early forties (me) then it was at 35 or 25. My kids are growing up fast. I am spending as much time with them now. There will be a quiet shift when you realize you’ve gone from being their entire world to becoming a chapter in their life.
My parents are growing older. Rather than thinking about the quantity of time spent with them, I am thinking about spending moments with them which are memorable. Although, I have a challenging time creating those moments. Thats one of the goals I am chasing...
I’m not trying to optimize every second. That’s a stress trap. I’m choosing what matters.
If I don’t want to spend time with someone, I don’t...
If something drains me, I drop it...
If I’m tired, I rest...
If one of my kids wants to talk, I give them full attention...
When I care, I go deep...
When I am free, I play golf...
When is school break, I try to create moments with kids...
Happiness is the state of mind that gives you a feeling of satisfaction & contentment.
Happy investor is an investor who is satisfied and content with his/her money goals and try to achieve the same in his/her personal life and with people around them
Are you a happy investor?
@jasonlewris It depends what you call "most motivated seller". He could have listed it for $4M and reduced it to $1.595M and the percentage number would be even higher. Point being, the anchor point matters.
I live in Orlando too and I have been following the slow decline of reunion for the last 4 years. It's fascinating to watch how all the COVID stimulus money got deployed into these homes... All that is dried up now, less visitors, expensive disney trips, this is all unraveling. Similar thing with Grove resort in winter garden.
Look at those eyes.🔥
81st minute, down 1-2, and the clock is practically running out. Then out of nowhere, Leo turns back the clock. He starts dribbling past 2 or 3 Egyptian players like he’s 22 again, like he is possessed… he leaves them in the dust, and puts in a perfect short cross. Lautaro misses. Messi falls to the grass.
But look at his face before he even stands up. My my my!!!
Just look at the determination.
The wounded face of a lion.
The absolute fire in his eyes.
Honestly, if the defenders saw him looking like this, they must have known right then and there that the game was already over for them.
Because 1/2 minutes later? He scores the equalizer. And from there, Argentina takes the whole match.
This is what I want every kid and every football lover to remember.
This man has won every single trophy in existence. He has nothing left to prove to anyone. Yet, look how hungry he still is.
Look at that obsession to win.
Keep this image in your mind whenever life knocks you down. Let those eyes inspire you to work harder, to fight harder. Burn this gaze in your memory. Rise up!
It’s okay to be wounded.
Just never, ever be defeated. 🙌🏽

Couldn't agree with this more. After being in real estate for over 12 years, I would say that it is not a wise use of capital and time.
One of the biggest reason that no one talks about is the fact that no one below 50 years old had seen rising interest rates which changed in 2022. Before 2022, the declining interest rates were the biggest tailwind for the rising real estate prices. When it reversed then people who are paying attention have slowly started realizing that it's not a good investment given the amount of work you have to put in.
In 2014, I met a guy who was 70 years and had a out 60 single family homes fully paid off. He told me that if he had to do it again, he would not do real estate. Just as a diversification, he may put some money but majority of his investments would go into equities.
@TheLongInvest@anthonynoto For SOFIs CEO to buy $500k of stock is equivalent of average person buying a Starbucks coffee for $6 i.e. it doesn't make any difference in their life and it doesn't prove any point to anyone.
Claude code just launched which was the game changer in Open Claw. Sending messages from your phone or any messaging service ex: your phone to Cowork to get it to do the work.
This feels like the days of Linux vs Windows or early days of Android vs iPhone.
We're shipping a new feature in Claude Cowork as a research preview that I'm excited about: Dispatch!
One persistent conversation with Claude that runs on your computer. Message it from your phone. Come back to finished work.
To try it out, download Claude Desktop, then pair your phone.
Australian tech entrepreneur Paul Conyngham explains how he used ChatGPT/AlphaFold (spent $3,000 with no biology background) to create a custom MRNA vaccine to treat his dog’s cancer tumors. Unreal.
Couldn't agree more. Restaurant owner was once asked what kind of group do you really respect as a client. He said the guy who comes alone to eat. As he is there purely for the love of the food from his restaurant. There is no agenda, no talking, just pure endorsement of his restaurant
