@Strickomaster Been trying to get my head around all the vitriol on here today and I think its sad its turning / turned into a philosophical thing when actually its like many things in teaching / education - complex.
@adamboxer1@VallanceTeach - gents - can you enlighten me on whether Tom Bennett and Paul Dix are on a similar page or coming from different angles? I feel both have really important/ valid messages
@adamboxer1 I agree with you - I guess some students may need counselling. I always think behaviour can tell you a lot. But it doesnโt come at the expense of expectations of behaviour.
Tbh the most interesting bit of your answer is that you got excluded - what did you do?!
@VallanceTeach A really example of how this is all done is at Limpsfield Grange for example (specialist setting) - everything is clear / set at a high bar but there is flexibility with how that is delivered.
Iโm probably ignorant of this debate tbh but I just donโt get it ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
@VallanceTeach Pt1/ I just canโt believe there is a debate tbh. Surely itโs a no brainier to:
โ high expectations
โ clear expectations for staff and students
โ Apply those relevantly to your own setting (flexibility)
โ Make reasonable adjustments if needed but not at behaviour policy expense
@adamboxer1 Iโm ignorant to this debate tbh but surely the key is to do right by your own school community (whatever that looks like) , have high (and clear) expectations and go from there.
Just think it all sounds ridiculously conflated and confusing - but you know it is summer hols ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
@SPBeale I canโt remember if thereโs a house there but Wimpole Farm (Cambridgeshire way) is lovely
If you fancy a Lake District trip - Sizergh (spelling) Castle is ๐
Suffolk way - Ickworth Estate
