VDH & Seb Gorka Blasts Tucker Carlson’s Hitler Apologist Guest and the Rise of the “Woke Right”!

This has birthed what a friend terms “the woke right,” a movement steeped in victimhood and epistemological nihilism that declares “truth doesn’t exist because they’re all lying to you.”

In a recent appearance on Victor Davis Hanson podcast, Hanson sharply criticized Tucker Carlson for platforming Dave Collum, whom Gorka described as an amateur historian and anti-Semite who argued on Carlson’s show that the West should have sided with Adolf Hitler during World War II.

Hanson pointed out the absurdity of portraying Winston Churchill, the leader who helped save Western civilization, as the true villain of the war, while casting Hitler, the architect of the Holocaust and the invasion of Poland, as a victim.

Hanson methodically dismantled several of Collum’s claims. First, Collum falsely asserted that 20,000 American prisoners of war liberated by the Soviets were never returned; in reality, Hanson explained, almost all were repatriated after difficult negotiations, despite the risk that freed Soviet prisoners faced execution or labor camps upon returning to Stalin.

Second, Collum misrepresented General George S. Patton as wanting to ally with Hitler against the Soviets; Patton, exhausted and serving as military governor of Bavaria after Hitler’s death, merely warned that the Soviet Union remained a future threat and speculated about re-arming some former German units—never expressing any desire to join the already-defeated Führer.

Third, the notion that partnering with Hitler could have prevented the Holocaust is, Hanson stressed, historically illiterate: the Nazis’ Hunger Plan to starve tens of millions in Eastern Europe was decided before the war began, the regime had already murdered 50,000 disabled Germans in its euthanasia program, and within weeks of invading Poland in 1939, the first 7,000 Polish Jews were rounded up for extermination.

Expressing bewilderment at the trajectory of figures he once knew well; Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, and others on the populist right, Hanson offered two converging explanations for the spread of such revisionism.

The first is the relentless pursuit of clickbait: outrage, not truth, now drives content, because maximum views equal maximum advertising revenue. The second is a broader anti-expertise mood, exemplified by internet personalities who insist “all experts are wrong” simply because some (like Anthony Fauci) have lied or been mistaken.

This postmodern skepticism, Hanson argued warned, has produced what a friend calls the “woke right”—a victimhood-obsessed movement that declares objective truth itself nonexistent because authorities have sometimes deceived the public, whether about WMDs in Iraq or COVID policies.

In the end, Hanson argued, the only antidote is a return to first principles: objective truth is real, books must be read, primary sources consulted, and the search for accuracy must trump the chase for clicks and retweets.

James is in favor of right-wing goals, but not in favor of using woke means to achieve them, much like how one might be in favor of fixing a toothache, but not in favor of doing it with a sledgehammer. This would not make someone pro-toothache, but rather anti-head-injury.

You may think you're being clever by playing a cute word game where you arbitrarily select the other half of the equation, right wing goals, as something James opposes since he opposes your half of the equation, using woke means to achieve them.

But reality isn't cute word games. There are real meanings to words, though using them arbitrarily as weapons certainly fits the woke mode of operation.

We can’t defend what we’ve been cut off from and no longer understand. Western ideals encompass individual liberty fused with national self-defense against true tyrants. I hope people reject this deception, or or we risk watching isolationists hand victory to our real enemies amid endless infighting.
