Ace, Garp, Whitebeard - they all get explored heavily while side characters from previous arcs come back into the spotlight as even more interesting characters. It’s a completely different, more morally ambiguous cast which makes it unique

Also no one reads one piece for the mediocre fights marineford is amazing at everything it does

Introduced right after Ace died, comes back into the story as Luffy’s cool older brother, has Ace’s exact powers - do you not see what I see?

Once it started focusing more on story rather than the crew and their dynamics it began to get weaker

Sabo and Ace aren’t the same, but let’s be serious, they have the same power, the same role in Luffy’s life, and lowk the same personality.
