Posts circulating on social media claiming that the Amazon Data Centre for which Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy performed the groundbreaking ceremony on July 15, 2026, was brought to Telangana by the previous government are FALSE.

📄 Position on Record

➤ Officials clarified that the ₹60,000-crore Amazon investment is part of a framework agreement initiated in 2025 during the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025.

➤ Amazon officials held discussions with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy during the World Economic Forum in Davos and subsequently announced the investment during the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025 in Hyderabad.

➤ The investment will be implemented in multiple phases over a period of 12 to 14 years, with the Data Centre being the first phase of the project.

➤ Officials said the Telangana government has allocated 202 acres of land in Future City and another 98 acres in Chandanvelly for the project, along with incentives and concessions worth ₹125 crore.

➤ The first phase of construction is expected to be completed within 24 months, while the remaining phases will be developed over the next decade.

📌 Project Significance

➤ Officials said the facility will be one of Amazon's largest data centres in India and further strengthen Hyderabad's position as the country's third-largest data centre market.

➤ The campus will support cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), e-commerce and digital banking infrastructure.

➤ In addition to the Data Centre, Amazon plans to establish auxiliary industries that are expected to generate significant employment opportunities in Telangana.

➤ Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy described the project as a "stepping stone" for attracting future industrial investments and said it aligns with the Telangana Rising-2047 vision of building a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047.

Officials clarified that the Amazon Data Centre project stems from an investment commitment made in 2025 under the present government's investment initiative and not from the previous government's tenure.
