@app_settings How stiff is the hinge? Idk why but my brain is having such a hard time grasping the size and thickness of the Duo through videos 😭 it looks very very premium though
@korablev@yab_browser I will say one thing that I'm immediately missing is having the address bar work in the sidebar. Little whiplash first time I clicked it, just a suggestion though!
I do like the added context and quick actions in Yab's address bar so I'm willing to accept that tradeoff
Downloaded the first browser I saw that looked remotely like Arc, which happened to be @yab_browser
Hollyyy crappppp I can already tell this is what I'm switching to, plus AI is actually usefully integrated instead of shoved down my throat. Little jank but wonderful 10/10
@korablev@yab_browser It's mostly just overall UX, little lag here and there and animations aren't the smoothest, but I'm impressed that that's really it :))
I'm really loving the native OS elements peppered throughout, that was one thing I wished Arc had adopted that look great here, kudos!
I’m not saying Tesla hasn’t made any progress here. It’s cool as hell to see this finally. But “seeing” is all it’ll be for now. It doesn’t exist as a car.
It’s a concept, and unfortunately that’s all it has been for the last…20 years, and counting.
Ok I’m done now :)
Unsolicited thoughts on the Tesla Roadster🧵
Really cool presentation. A friend of mine showed me that a local lighting company in Omaha worked the event, which is gnarly as hell.
The car itself though…was that even a car? Can we call that a “car” at this point?
And yes I’m stealing the “falling with style” joke here because it 100% applies. The compressed air bit is cool, and it shows that progress can very much be made here.
But I still can’t wrap my head around this being a car! I haven’t seen it fly, which I thought was the point?
Open source it then…? Personally, I don’t believe Dia provides a comparable experience (and it was nice to not have AI/Arc Max shoved down my throat) and other alternatives like Helium just aren’t worth it for me.
We've decided to sunset Arc on December 22, 2026.
That's not an easy sentence to write. We spent years building Arc and celebrating each and every release along the way: we have so much pride and love for what we made alongside the Arc community.
Our priority is to deliver best-in-class security for our members. Keeping a browser secure takes constant, dedicated work that is only increasing in the age of AI. Dia was built from the ground up to meet today’s security standards, so that's where our engineering and security teams will focus moving forward.
We've worked to make switching to @diabrowser as easy as possible for Arc members. Here's how:
· Your passwords, bookmarks, extensions and history come over to Dia seamlessly.
· Spaces, Folders, and Tab Groups are in Dia and import over with your data intact.
· Dia now surpasses Arc benchmarks in stability, speed, and security.
· The browser features you use in Arc are free in Dia, and the AI is optional.
Thank you for using Arc, for pushing us to make it better, and for building alongside us. The team that made Arc is the same team behind Dia, and some of our most ambitious work is just ahead. We'd love for you to be there with us when it lands.
6 years ago I accidentally shoplifted one of those tiny Starbucks mocha drinks from a Dollar General bc I was holding onto it the entire checkout line and just forgot to put it on the conveyor belt
