If Africa's top referee is inadmissible in America, who qualifies? Many are calling it racism.
Somali referee Omar Abdulkadir Artan was denied entry into the US "due to vetting concerns" even though he had a 3-month multiple entry visa and was traveling on a diplomatic passport
“You cannot say that you have Shs158 billion to purchase cars for MPs and then claim that you do not have Shs 28 billion to pay medical interns’ allowances, with the excuse that it would crush the economy. By the way, doctors are rarely in the hospitals. It is the medical interns who are everywhere doing the donkey work,” Archbishop Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu

@tebankadde Well,he lasted more than six months but plunged the nation into decades of instability until the NRM government secured the support of the Baganda and returned the Kabaka.
A former boda boda rider at MM Pub, Kabuusu, Lubaga, sold his bike (when he heard me say that coffee growing gave better returns than the motor bike) and started a three-acre farm in Bukomansimbi. His farm grew to 17 acres by the time I visited him. He lives decently by any account.
A well-looked after acre of coffee yields at least 800,000/- per month. #WorkAndProsper
Earlier today, my team and I paid a courtesy visit to Owekitiibwa Pookiino we Ssaza Buddu. In my capacity as Woman Member of Parliament for Masaka City, I made a contribution of UGX 6 million to the Buddu FC #MasazaCup. I will make a further contribution in due course as State Minister for Local Government.
I appreciate the people of Masaka City for embracing my message: that it is impractical to boycott a government in power. I encouraged them to consider representation on the NRM ticket. I am confident that together we shall deliver results. All detractors will be plucked out of my way! #BuddukuNtikko! #NRM Juuuuu
One day, you'll bury your dad, and that's the day you'll realize you lost the only man who genuinely wanted you to do better than him.
Take care of him if he's alive.
As someone who is in the middle of the application and interview process of enrolling onto a PhD, I will respond basing on what one of Mentors told me.
She said, that the real value of a PhD is the intellectual rigor that I will develop. She told me that I will learn how to handle extreme failure, how to defend an idea against world-class critics, and how to manage a massive, multi-year project with no roadmap. It is not for the weak of heart. It is not about the title but the work that you put in. It is not to read books, but to generate knowledge, and make that knowledge practical for other people to use.
Unfortunately, our people just want titles without the intellectual rigor. That's why they cant defend or critic anything but just rubber stamp whatever they are given!
Here’s a remarkable photo: Kabaka Daudi Cwa, wearing a tan suit, greets Bishop Willis. Date is late 1920s. I’ve not seen images of him wearing anything other than his robes.
Found today in the archives of the Wellcome Library:
Wedding photo of one of Uganda’s most fascinating women: Lady Irene Namaganda, 1914. Daughter of a clergyman, she married Kabaka Daudi Cwa, becoming the first nnabagereka of c20th Buganda.
