I've worken up from surgery in so much pain I couldn't see, and had to wait while someone got the anesthesiologist. It sucks. And that's not likely to improve. I don't have great answers. But at least I can advocate for myself and I can seek out doctors who take me seriously.

Look man, bodies are fucking weird, and despite being "body professionals" a lot of medical pros are seriously uninformed and incurious about some of the weirder ways it fits together.

I've had a root canal with (functionally) no anesthetic where the endodontist refused to acknowledge I could feel anything, even though his assistant had to help me pry my fingers off the armrests when he was done. I've had a surgical excision on my leg with zero pain meds
