@eatingthedog@michael_kove@therealmissjo Less than 10% of the U.S. uses radiators for heating. A majority uses blower-style AC. It’s true some millions of Americans use radiators but many more millions use HVAC systems. I’m not trying to be mean, you were right but it’s useless tangential kind of right.
I had her out on the front porch on a leash and my neighbor unironically told me it was a really charitable thing I was doing by owning a black cat. She had at least two cats. Couldn’t imagine owning a black cat. People are so weird about cats.
I have a black cat. A house panther, if you will. The adoption facility made me explain why I chose her, and then they wanted to come see my house. I didn’t realize until later why. People are monstrous to cats and house panthers get the worst of it.
@Emma_h_mua@realitybasedguy Can I offer an alternate frame? Think about the man vs bear debate. Men cause more harm than women. They cause more horrific harm than bears. It’s valid and realistic to be more wary of men than of women. And predatory men will go where they can find prey.
lol is this just girl dinner with a British pub aesthetic?
I wouldn’t choose the onions or the salad cream but I’ve had cheese and buttered bread as a fun little dinner snack about a million times. I usually try to toss something green on the side for the illusion of health.
So much of Destiny is lost media now. I think it would be neat if Sony and Bungie built a single/co-op series taking us through the story of Destiny from the start. Reuse assets, rebuild stories and levels, give everyone a path through the narrative. I’d do it again.
@Crypto_Stash@JohnLeFevre It’s more nuanced than that, though. The private sector can and has paved the way for the public sector. The private sector has to do research and development that will contribute to lowering the cost and difficulty of space travel. It doesn’t have to be either/or.
@cotagg55@Halalcoholism What exactly is the purpose of stabbing someone in the chest if not to kill that person? If he stabbed the unarmed kid in the chest without the intent to kill, that demonstrates a negligence so malignant that he should still pay serious consequences.
You can use the rest of those eggs on more breakfast. You can use the honey to sweeten your coffee or drizzle on toast. Cabbage is dirt cheap. You can make your own dressing. I’ll give you the avocado but all of this is cheap with a little meal planning.
If 3 eggs is $1, that means you bought a $4 dozen. A banana is $.22 but that honey is $8/bottle. Where are you getting an avocado under $1? And the cabbage? A jar of that is at least $3. So this meal has an initial price of $16.22, assuming you already have salt and pepper.
@james3211110469@MediumSizeMeech The original critic is welcome to have opinions but the criticism was of the formulaic nature of the show which is a silly thing to criticize a procedural over. Formulaic structure is a feature of a procedural not a bug. They’ve fallen out of fashion but it hasn’t been THAT long.
There’s also the minor nitpick that I clearly remember an episode very early in the run where House doesn’t save a patient and it’s kind of on purpose and it’s a moral and ethical quandary. There are a lot of interesting standout eps that do something different.
I think this shows just how much the procedural has fallen out of fashion. Folks don’t realize the repetitive nature is a feature, not a bug. House is a particularly good example of the procedural because House’s story builds around the procedural as the seasons progress.
